You can eat whatever you like as long as you are aware of the repercussions of your actions. Do you choose to live life making choices that lead to negativity and suffering for others? Or do you choose to make a positive difference?
I am not under that illusion at all.
The difference is that animals do not have the intelligence to make the compassionate choice. Humans do.
Either utilize the intelligence that you are blessed to have, or don't....in the latter scenario you may as well be an animal yourself.
We are animals.
What you are saying here is that you are denying the theory of evolution?
If not then you and believe we were once possibly an ape, if not at least Neanderthal man, at which time our intelligence level was no more than most other animals, and relied on our instinct to eat meat and vegetation to survive, and instinct is what makes us Human.
So in this case you are saying we should deny our instinct as a Human because we have become smart enough to drive cars and make computers?
Intelligence has nothing to do with compassionate choice, compassion is an emotion, not an intellect, and emotion does not make a decision a right choice. For example, hate is an emotion, so if I hate someone enough to kill them, that makes that the right choice? No.
I can understand people becoming upset because of the way animals are treated. Even I agree, but that isn't a good enough reason why I should deny being Human.
Food is food, vegetable, fruit, diary and meat. And it is there for
ALL living creatures to survive on. As I said, its the circle of life.
