I think I should take it up on myself to learn a new language.
I wasn't really that good at English when I was at school, it got me wondering 'Why the hell they were teaching English when I AM English?'. Now I realised that if I had payed attention in school I would have probably learned something, and wouldn't have had to teach it to myself later along the line.
So anyways I've reached the peak of my own cultural literacy, and I want to learn french. I did the basics when I was in school, how to count to ten etc, but went on to study and take German at exam level. I think it would be pretty cool to learn how to swear in French too. But my reasons for this is because I will maybe be looking to work abroad in the future and am more than likely going to encounter bilingual or multilingual people in my profession.
Are there any french people on here? or have you taught yourself another language?
