..i just saw the news and i couldnt believe what i see.

Apparently the south of america has some problems with the lack of rain throughout the last weeks or months. Now, the governour of Georgia gathered all the other politicians around him and....guess what....they prayed to god and asked him for help

Are you saying that there is a problem with praying?
Yes?!!!

I mean, they were standing there, outside, a group of politicians, closing their eyes and praying to god to help them. Surrounded by cameras like its some kind of event. It was just so..medieval (except the cameras.lol).

Is it correct to say that these people are typical Americans and not the people you see on TV?

Maybe they could've gotten some Native Americans to do a raindance too. Oh wait, that's a pagan dance :(

Yeah, sometimes politics here in America are too closely tied to religion. I think it's done for marketing purposes though. Lots of people have "blind faith" in these religions and if a politician also believes in their God, they are more likely to trust him.

Thats really good, they get to pretend they are actually helping. I too agree a rain dance would have made more sense, plus fun & exercise alot better than the standing and bowing of heads could ever offer.

What do you want to say................ beReal?
Politicians get together and do things like prey for soldiers, victims of crime and other things. I'd imagine these kinds of "attitude" (oh you know, a kind of trying to justify certain things by looking for answers from up above) arent limited to Americans or certain type of religion. Until we have better systems to control the weather, all of the farmers down there and else where are going to turn to God when things get desperate enough. Find something else about America to bitch about.

is there really any difference from this than a rain dance? not really. just different ways to skin the cat, so to speak.

there are many people that think if a collective comes together and all focus on one particular thing, mentally thinking about it, then they can make it come true. i'm not saying i believe in this, but i have heard people speak on evidence they have collected researching this sort of thing. it is interesting.
