But you're trying to bulk up and stuff, I have two agendas:
Basketball:
Most 6'3" players are very light. Steve Francis, Baron Davis, etc. etc. all around 195 area. I am faster than people my size or bigger, and stronger than someone smaller than me.

MMA Fighting:
My size is kinda of a catch-22 here. When you're 6'3" you can't really drop down to a real low weight class without shedding tons of muscle. I boxed a guy an inch taller than me, 5 or so pounds heavier, a few nights ago. He was much stronger, I work out with the guy, but his hands were slow. He drilled me a few good times, but I got him more. He was too slow to hit me, and my hits just landed with enough force to follow with another one. He would swing slowly and I could dodge them so for every five he threw, he would connect with one. For every five I threw, four would hit. I would rather hit someone four times with 50% power, than one time with 80% power.
Had he got me on the ground it would have been a different story because his strength would have probably prevailed. But, him being in a 215 weight class (and him wanting to be in 235) and my being in a 185-195 class, I wouldn't have to worry about that.

I don't look lanky, by any means. My shoulders are too broad and my chest is too wide for that, but I've got abnormally long arms and legs, so it kind of evens out.
My hands are very quick, and my blocks are my strength. I want to bulk up a bit to protect against body shots, and to be able to throw strong, yet still quick, finishers.

I dont want to have to throw my whole body weight into every punch for them to hurt, know what I mean? I believe in upper body power so you dont compromise your stance and positioning.

He is around 6'3" and 195 pounds, I wouldn't consider him lanky..

Rich Franklin is 6foot. The 3 inches make a lot of difference in regards to optimal weight.

Michael Jai White is 6'2" and 215lbs. Have you seen him move in exhibitions or movies? He is hardly slow. That is my ideal size.

Although MJW is a genetic freak.

I started working out. My biggest problem is my diet. I can't keep one. I love food too much and even worse I eat at irregular times and irregular portions. I tried changing this but I don't have the will.

I am doing P90X though if you guys have heard about it. Fucking tough.
Where are you at in the 90 days? I have done the first month at least 3 times.

Someone get the dvds and be my partner. I got mine on craigslist for $40 after the ones I paid $200 for were stolen from my car.

Funny, because I began to teach myself Esperanto last year. It's a great foundation when pursuing other languages later.

I just want to be the best possible person I can be, inside and out. I have the same career as you which means I have a lot of spare time and work from home. So Ive taken the opportunity to try to better myself both physically and mentally.
If your goal with learning another language is to be able to communicate with as many people as possible, you'd be far better off learning Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, and Spanish. Since you already speak English, if you did that you'd be able to communicate with between 5 to 5.5 billion people on the planet, and our planet has a population of 6 billion. :D

Between producing, songwriting, recording, rehearsing with the band, doing shows all around the world, brushing up my keyboard and guitar skills, self-managing myself, running mine and my band's online presence as well a couple people that pay me to help them out a bit, getting in enough light exercise like running and dancing, networking, making sure i respond to all the hardcore fans on various social network sites, writing my book, working on documentaries like the one I'm currently doing in collaboration with Birmingham City University, helping out my aunt when I can, because my uncle is old and has senile dementia and can't do much for himself, and trying to shut everything off so that sometimes I can actually spend some quality time with my wife and focus on our relationship, I have just about enough time to post on this board and a couple of others lol.

I actually have no idea what I'd do if I had any more free time. Probably try and organize my apartment a bit better since it's pretty messy.

My only problems in gaining muscles was b/c not enough protein. I could only sustain my weight if I over-ate. Otherwise I lose it.
also, staying motivated to do keep on.

Solutions?

- I'm a bit short on the $ side, so I'm gonna go get a membership @ a gym and make it worth while.

- Protein shakes work for me.

People often try hard workout plans and then give up after a short amount of time. If you're not working out on a daily basis (or at least 2-3 times/week) you'll either give up after a few workout sessions or cheat, even if your enthusiasm is super high at the beginning.

It's way better to start easier and then with time you'll simply want to do more. It'll give you better long-term results.
