The last words of hundreds of death row inmates have been revealed for the first time.


Texas has more than 300 Death Row inmates and has executed 18 people this year.
Authorities in Texas, where more people have been executed than in any other US state, have published the last statements of everyone put to death since 1982.
The most recent of the 441 final statements is that of Christopher Coleman, who was killed by lethal injection last week.
The 38-year-old, who was convicted of killing three men during a drug deal, simply said: "Yes. Ain't no way fo' fo', I love all y'all."

Yeah. The only statement I want to make is that I am an innocent man - convicted of a crime I did not commit. I have been persecuted for 12 years for something I did not do. I don't agree with the death penalty and I don't agree with having them live in "luxury" either. Bare basics, food to keep them alive - ie if at all possible remove taste and just leave the nutrition. No TV. No computers. This is especially for those convicted of pedophilia/murder etc. There is always the argument that people in jail have it better than those on the street, well ofcourse but that doesn't mean you ignore the prison system you just need to improve the way of life in society.

Probably one of the most ignorant posts i have ever read on this forum. This is an interesting thread so please dont turn it into another one of your tedious religion bashing sessions.

What makes you so sure that they were all religious at the time they commited their crimes? did it ever occur to you that they may have turned to religion while on death row? of course not. You just jump to the conclusion that you like best.

Death row prisoners are routinely segregated from other prisoners and often spend 23 hours a day in their cell. So, not surprisingly, a good number of them begin to study, or turn to religion. After 10 or 15 years there is a meritorious argument that many of them have changed markedly, and are, in fact, a different person than they were the day they were convicted.

^^im not really. sometimes when i read about a murder case in the newspaper i might say that we should bring in the death penalty here. but when i think about it, i dont agree with it. First of all you could have a situation where an innocent person is convicted and wrongfully executed. and also as i said before, a life sentence is more of a punishment. Which would you rather. death or the rest of your life in a prison?
