The last words of hundreds of death row inmates have been revealed for the first time.

Texas has more than 300 Death Row inmates and has executed 18 people this year.
Authorities in Texas, where more people have been executed than in any other US state, have published the last statements of everyone put to death since 1982.
The most recent of the 441 final statements is that of Christopher Coleman, who was killed by lethal injection last week.
The 38-year-old, who was convicted of killing three men during a drug deal, simply said: "Yes. Ain't no way fo' fo', I love all y'all."

Yeah. The only statement I want to make is that I am an innocent man - convicted of a crime I did not commit. I have been persecuted for 12 years for something I did not do. From God's dust I came and to dust I will return - so the earth shall become my throne. I gotta go, road dog. I love you Gabby. [Remaining portion of statement omitted due to profanity.]
There were alot who claimed their innocence till the end

look at this one:

Date of Execution: 02/12/2009 Offender: Johnson, Johnny Last Statement: The Polunsky dungeon should be compared with the Death Row Community as existing not living. Why do I say this, the Death Row is full of isolated hearts and suppressed minds. We are filled with love looking for affection and a way to understand. I am a Death Row resident of the Polunsky dungeon. Why does my heart ache. We want pleasure love and satisfaction. It. The walls of darkness crushed in on me. Life without meaning is life without purpose. But the solace within the Polunsky dungeon, the unforgivesness within society, the church Pastors and Christians. It is terrifying. Does anyone care or who I am. Can you feel me people. The Polunsky dungeon is what I call the pit of hopelessness. The terrfying thing is the US is the only place, country that is the only civilized country that is free that says it will stop murder and enable justice. I ask each of you to lift up your voices to demand an end to the Death Penalty. If we live, we live to the Lord. If we die we die to the Lord. Christ rose again, in Jesus name. Bye Aunt Helen, Luise, Joanna and to all the rest of yall. You may proceed Warden. (began singing)

Now look at what he got the death penalty for:

The deathg penalty is a cop out for someone like him. he should have been left in the Polunsky dungeon and tortured for the rest of his days.

Why is it that they all turn to God at the last second. God can't help you now, you're dead. Idiots.

LOL at the one that says, "profanity directed towards staff."

but truly, it's so fucked up. i do not support the death penalty.

And I don't support keeping them in a prison, where my taxes go to them having hot water, heating and a basketball court while there are good people who have just run out on luck that are stuck in the street freezing their asses off.

Mother fuckers should instate Russian penal system. Forced labour in Siberia, 14 hr days in the snow, work for free, and if you die ... oh well, NEXT IN LINE.

I don't agree with the death penalty and I don't agree with having them live in "luxury" either. Bare basics, food to keep them alive - ie if at all possible remove taste and just leave the nutrition. No TV. No computers. This is especially for those convicted of pedophilia/murder etc. There is always the argument that people in jail have it better than those on the street, well ofcourse but that doesn't mean you ignore the prison system you just need to improve the way of life in society.

I was hoping people would take time to read what they were on death row for as well. Good looking out. I can't even say anything about that, I'm speechless.

I can't even imagine someone going through that before they finally die :worried: Man........

Great example of why I hate religion. Most of these people probably believe that bullshit about being saved by their lord if they only repent for their sins. Fucking pile of shit.

They deserve to feel like they're going to rot and suffer.

Religious people have less morals than us atheists because they actually believe that they'll be forgiven no matter what - and since most of them are stupid for believing anyway, this translates to them in their minds to being able to do whatever the fuck they want and not have to feel guilty about it.

The lord forgives. What a fucking crock. Look at these murderous cunts with their fucking prayers.

You're not forgiven no matter what, that's just what those that don't know much about religion say. Kill a person, it's hell. It's just what people hope they'll be; forgiven. It's all well explained actually, so I don't know what these convicts are talking about lol.

As for religious people having less morals than Athiests. That's the most illogical assumption I've ever read. I can just say, Athiests are less moral than Religious people because they don't believe in the afterlife, so they don't have to be scared of spending eternity in hell, so they can do what they want and have fun!!
C'mon now, there are more reasons people commit crimes or immoral acts than just because :"Oh, religion will save me, I can do what I want!" .. There are psychological, social and economic problems as to why people steal, kill and make decisions most wouldn't.
You, who believes in the power of sciences above all should know that Casey.

They'll be forgiven of masturbation or maybe hitting a girl before marriage but not murder. Sure they'll tell you that it's better if you regret but still it's most probably hell (by Catholic rules).

Probably one of the most ignorant posts i have ever read on this forum. This is an interesting thread so please dont turn it into another one of your tedious religion bashing sessions.

What makes you so sure that they were all religious at the time they commited their crimes? did it ever occur to you that they may have turned to religion while on death row? of course not. You just jump to the conclusion that you like best.

Death row prisoners are routinely segregated from other prisoners and often spend 23 hours a day in their cell. So, not surprisingly, a good number of them begin to study, or turn to religion. After 10 or 15 years there is a meritorious argument that many of them have changed markedly, and are, in fact, a different person than they were the day they were convicted.

^^im not really. sometimes when i read about a murder case in the newspaper i might say that we should bring in the death penalty here. but when i think about it, i dont agree with it. First of all you could have a situation where an innocent person is convicted and wrongfully executed. and also as i said before, a life sentence is more of a punishment. Which would you rather. death or the rest of your life in a prison?
