I was at costco today shopping for groceries with my parents and I saw the isle of instruments that they had on display. I saw the Yamaha YPG525 for the first time. I tried it out for a while and I thought the sounds are pretty amazing (though I didn't check out every feature and/or instrument). Instruments are very well realistic. I am thinking of saving up for this piano and purchasing it sometime during the next few months. I need opinions, and suggestions of any kind to this keyboard. If anyone can also post up audio previews of the Rhodes Piano that is used for that model, I would really appreciate it alot.

What will make my decision in buying this piano or not has to do with it having realistic fender rhodes sounds. My original choice was to buy a Roland Piano S-55 or 5-55 (Can't remember the exact model name) (Since they were one of the first to help incorperate the fender rhodes with their pianos). Keep in mind that I am a huge fan of rhodes. I definetly enjoy using it in most of my production.

Here is the link to the piano:

looks like a waste of money for 600 bucks and for that price you can get much better keyboards or for a few hundred more get a decent workstation. then again i would never buy any piece of music equipment from costco, best buy, wal mart, sams club, kmart, target or any for of store where you can buy your food, socks, underwear, and a futon all in one place. shit for that price you can buy a software plug in that has a good rhodes sound if that is what you really. pro tools has a new plug in that has one of the best rhodes sounds i have ever heard

Thanks for the advice. I'm still going to look around until I find something I'm 100% sure about.

Edit: If you can refer me to any certain brands of keyboards which you think are much better (mainly for rhodes and realistic instrument sounds), than please let me know. Thanks.

i see you're stubborn when it comes to finding a fender rhodes keyboard. however..

i don't know what it means when you say you like to use it in your productions, but by god, i hope you change it up and use different effects and mixing on it in your different beats. nothing sucks more than a repetative producer. :p

lol yeah I am

Well, it is what it is. I like to use rhodes piano in my instrumentals when I produce, and that's what I was trying to say. The rhodes on FL and other samples that I use arent as great as an acctuall fender rhodes keyboard or piano (obviously), but I really learned alot from using FL. I just need something different now (sound wise).

Any suggestions for keyboards (Roland or Yamaha)?
