What I Have To Say

In my life, I have never really studied or worked for the marks I got. Why? Because I still had good marks. In cegep, I started skipping and my CRC went really down. form 21 i went to something like 19 and right now I went back up at 25.6 which is, I think, really good. Anyways this semester I have been working my ass on school. I have 7 courses this semester which is a lot compared to my other semesters. I have an average of 3 papers per week to hand in plus exams and other little assignments. I am literally dying. I feel now I understand how people who work their ass off feel like. My 7 courses are huge courses. Plus almost half or my teachers are bitches and the other half are nice or extremely nice.
1) Psychology in Business: Old teacher who is all about old school and instead of preparing lectures she reads the textbook to us.
2) Developmental Psychopathology: Awesome teacher. She gives us real lectures. I barely need my textbook to study for exams.
3) Sociology The Family: The teacher hates me. She's trying everything to fail me yet I get 80% in her exams easily. It's war.
4) 20th Century History: Sweet teacher, she makes her class very interesting. I never thought I'd like history this much and feel so bad when I skip it. Her exams are fucking tough though.
5)Humanities Current Ethical Issues: The teacher hates our class. Plus her class is boring. We are supposed to discuss current issues in the world and when the discussion starts getting interesting, she stops it. I hate her.
6) Gym Active Living: I never thought gym would have so much homework. I have to training logs, essays. What the fuck? But the teacher is awesome and funny.
7)Intergrative Seminar: Worst course. Immense load of work. 11 papers thorughout the semester. And when I'm saying papers, I'm talking research, essay, reference, annotated bibliographies. The courseload is huge. Fortunately the teacher is a sweetheart.

I'm exhausted. I'm fed up. I'm about to breakdown. Only a month left, but it's the biggest month of the semester. I don't know how I won't give up. I don't understand how people can work as hard throughout a whole semester. I'm complaining for a semester while some people have worked that hard their whole life.

I felt like posting something. So here it is.

By the way, hi to everyone. I know I haven't been posting much lately, school is taking up 80% of my time. I don't sleep, I barely eat (and yet I gained pounds, I don't understand) and I have no life. November is gonna be hectic. Not only will I have a huge school month, by I'm gonna be obliged to have a social life (which I haven't even tried to have in the past months).

So wish me luck. I'll post as much as I can. Love y'all!

I think the marginal rate of return on your education has just become equal with your personal discount factor and you should drop out of school.

Pft, try working full time, plus required overtime and taking full time classes and doing homework and writing papers and having no CHOICE but to fulfill social obligations because there are other people depending on you and THEN complain about how hard life is.

Some people have life so easy. I envy you :(

if you think thats hard try living like me. its not easy being under no pressure to perform all the time. try working at a toy store where you have no responsibility's. try going through high school without trying but still getting decent marks. now thats a hard life

At least you can afford an education carmi. Just like Synth, I had to work and commute an hour to school almost everyday for 3 years. At the end it was all worth it. Enjoyed my experience and wouldn't trade it for the world.

From reading your post, looks like you are depressed.

its cause cegep is cheap. wait til i get in uni next year.. but even that is less expensive than uni in the states but i'll be paying my uni on my own so i'll have to work more. i plan on saving money for uni this winter and summer. plus i'm noving out this summer.

i'm sorry if i sound rude or egoistical to people who are having life harder. maybe i am being egoist here because really i feel like i got no time for me, nothing for me recently because school is taking it all. but anyways.

^No, you are not. Everyone can say their life is harder than others. Well guess what African kids can't afford to sniff glue to keep the hunger away so they inhale gas from their own fecal matter.

There is always someone worst off than you are and thats always quickly pointed out but people don;t realize that hardships are hardships at the end of the day. Everyone goes through them one way or another.

At the end we all need to blow off some steam to take off some of the pressure.

Posting about it is one way to do it so don;t worry you are not being selfish.

Another way is to just go completely crazy and drive down to Ontario and go streaking down my street.

Whatever floats your boat i guess.

Damn you had 21? that wasn't that great... was your class that bad to lower the importance of your grade compared to the group average...

My CRC was 30, I was glad.

I had a few friends who had 36+

I don't think you are being rude nor egotistical, you just don't know how good you have it. Just relax handle your business and once you have free time take a mini vacation with your friends to blow off some steam. What have you been wanting to do? Any places you always wanted to go? Do it while you are still young and single.

In terms of a university have you ever thought of studying here in the states? California, Florida schools?

Can't really compare people across SES. Someone from a higher SES problems will be utterly ridiculous to someone from the bottom of the economical totem pole. It's ridiculous to even try to compare the hunger in Africa to the desire to have a college education in the States. Africa is still a primitive continent. One step at a time for them. They wouldn't be worrying about getting into Uni in many of the countries there as they still need running water and an irrigation system.
