Well my first decks were top of the range turntables which i got for an absolute bargain but i decided to sell them and all of my vinyls so i can buy a motorbike.
But listening to music lately i've had some brilliant ideas for remixing some cool drum n bass, breaks and house songs as well as some r&b. But since i can't be bothered buying vinyls anymore because they're just way too annoying to collect especially since half the stuff i want are rare as anything i'm looking for alternatives like the pioneer cdj 1000 mk3's... but not as expensive.
i'll also need a decent mixer to go with it.
I've heard the Denon 3500s's are good alternatives BUT they've got terrible response times.

any others which you recommend. I don't want to be spending too much.
And ultimately what i want to do is hook the mixer and everything to my mac and get some serious shit happening... ooh the ideas! :horny:

And once i've got that happening hook the electric guitar up as well for some recording of serious shit!

i reall y like the numark X2 hybrid, numark also has a new thing that isnt even on their website yet, not that i have seen anyways, called the HDX, its and hd/cd/mp3 player iwht a removable hard drive, you can rip cds on it and do recordings on it. its pretty sick

ive also had some instructors at school who are local dj's that say great things about serato's scratch live

how much are you looking to spend?

don't know how much i want to spend yet. I'll be spending around 4,500 on a new 17 inch macbook pro. so i guess i don't want to spend that much more on new decks. The decks you mentioned seem awesome.
I played around with some cdj1000 mk3's last night and all i have to say is that they were sooooooooooooo good! Even if i get mk2's they'll be great but they're fucking expensive.

your instructors are correct. scratch live is the standard djing tool here in austin. its quickly becoming standard in djing culture (not turntablism!) as a whole.

i can tell you from my experience, your best bet is to get tables, laptop, and scratch live.

as far as which tables, couldnt tell you, its all up to you. make sure its direct drive, brand shouldnt matter too much. technics is the top of the line brand, but its not the name that should matter, its how you use it. get dj fatal in here!
