To those not in the US...

Fuck. What I was trying to say was "biome" not "climate." I guess I couldn't think of a better word. The US has a lot of different biomes, so those that want to stay within the country and not deal with the hassle of flying or flying overseas, 800 miles can be the difference between the beach, a desert or a mountain, in the West cost. Eh, maybe 1000. A two day car drive, enjoy the scenery on the way.
Plus, not everyone has the money for a passport or may not be allowed to leave the country. A lot of different factors. But the US is definitely blessed to have such a diverse set of biomes, relatively close by.

I flew to the US over 20 years ago for a 3 week holiday. So economics... Mute point.
I would never fly Ryan Air anywhere. Shit airline. I am a little scared of flying, and want to get there in 1 piece. I always try and fly British Airways. Or if I am flying internal across US, I fly United or AA.
People need to leave their country and experience other cultures. You'd be suprised about your misconceptions. This year I spent a few weeks travelling across Vietnam. Which again, is a 13 hour flight. And doesn't have a budget airline.

You can make 1500km in one and a half day. Did it before, will do it again.

I don't agree. And just because some students go abroad doesn't mean shit. I feel like there's a difference. Big difference. But that's my opinion. and don't get me wrong people, we generalize here that means we take about the average, of course I met cool US people that were open minded and all. But that's only a few compared to the mass.

No you can't and of course money is THE factor sofi. But hell, I rather spend my money on experiences than ... bling bling or an expensive car. That's the decision I can make.

i know that. its evident that some people can cope with it better than others. for example. i prefer hot weather, sun in my face or nice winter weather with snow. i just hate dullness. seasonal affective disorder is something i might implement in my project this year.

Honestly, you guys have no grasp of England at all. We have pretty much nothing in common with Europe. We are in a geographical location called Europe that is it. We are almost the same as America, except we have a history and more culture. I'd say we have more in common with Australia and America than any European country.
We move out as soon as is financially possible. And I'd imagine our ratio of single parent families is also pretty high (Governments fault). In England, and this is a negative point, we are not very family orientated. The opposite of Italy or Spain.

I haven't been to Holland, so can't comment. But all the above countries are very old school. They have high family values, wear horrible clothes, and seem very much like country folk.
Germany isn't really like the UK, but I see more similarities than any of the above countries. Don't get me wrong though, I love Spain. And if I was going to move anywhere, it'd be there. Good weather. Cheap cost of living and a 2 hour flight back to London.
