This Comment - wtf

Yeah it was kinda harsh but like you said, she was prolly just frustrated cause everyone in the thread was on her ass about the seatbelt thing. I don't think she really meant to attack the other females here, she was just lashing out at everyone for riding her so hard about her comments in the thread....or maybe she was talking about someone in particular....I dunno but I'm sure she didn't mean any harm to all of us, least I hope not newayz. Syn is cool, I don't think she meant anything by it.
And yes we're supposed to stick together which is why I made that very comment in that thread. Ima defend any female on here for the simple fact that there ain't too many of us here so we gotta stick together to keep "the boys" from running over us.

its sumting i dont really like to talk about and its kinda digressing from main point of thread but with that paticular situation my IP addy names what school i go to and the moderator made that information public which i didnt want every1 else knowing...oh well whats done is done and we have to move on...
The fact of the matter is that it annoys me that in most threads that deal with anything that isn't a joke, it always goes as follows;
There's a slight discussion. Then someone with some "power" usually the same people come along and make a statement either in favor of the topic or against it.
After that, 95% of everyone in the thread always mindlessly goes along with what that person says.
That comment wasn't meant as a shot at any particular female on the board, it was directed towards a certain person (who is male) who told me that I should agree with what they were saying so that they would drop it. That I should just go along with what everyone was saying like most females on the board do.

I know what you mean by other members being influenced somehow half way through the first page, atleast thats how it seems. I guess some people are too scared to let their opinions come out first in fear of back-lash or something.
Anyway I think in that thread, atleast it seemed to me, some people just wanted you to change your mind so that you would wear a seatbelt since they feel your in danger if you dont. I didnt see it as an attack at you really. Atleast you were honest even though its not the answer most people would have liked to hear.

Just because majority of people agree on one widely held belief doesnt mean they are bandwagoning or mindlessly agreeing... considering the subject matter its exactly the kind of thing that everyone can make up their own mind about, just in this case there tended to be a consensus.

Once again, it's being taken the wrong way. And I guess this is one of those things that's hard to express via typing.
While in the thread someon IM'd me and said "You should just said "lol" or "I agree" or "
" like the rest of the females on the board so that they'll drop it.My response was a sarcastic one in retaliation to that person. The person that I made the comment to got it. Of course no one else would because no one else knew what was going on but me and him.
The thing is there's really no way to portray sarcasm online and at that point I was so thoroughly irritated that I didn't feel like using smilies or the "[sarcasm] [/sarcasm]"
I won't even address the other points you made because I am no longer discussing that topic and I don't respond to the use of personal information in the form of a general attack.

That particular comment had NOTHING to do with that thread really, other than the fact that the person who messaged me originally brought up the issue. It was sarcasm and again sarcasm can't be portrayed online. If I thought that none of the females on the board had a mind of their own, I wouldn't conversate with any of you, and I think I've talked to or still do talk to the majority of you all. Not just on streethop but off here on my personal time as well. I wouldn't talk to people on my own personal time who I had a negative opinion of.
And like I said to _carmi, i'm not discussing the other topic anymore, when I stopped posting in that thread, that was it.

With specific use of the term females there was intent to embarrass females whether you, in after thought, call it sarcastic or not. You just you just tried to justify the comment about females by saying people mindlessly agree, expressed so specifically toward females. Then say oh no i dont think females mindlessly agree. As if thats not the most flawed argument, both those statements cant be true. It's so illogical. Thats like saying females agree because all people, including females, agree but females dont just agree.
