Just because you are brown doesn't mean you won't get burnt... My girlfriend has olive skin, and although she never goes red or peels, she does get burnt.... The skin goes really dark and she hurts... She usually takes better care than me though, I rarely use lotion, and she applies it whenever she is in the sun...

I'm pretty sure all colours should use lotion if they intend to stay in the sun during it's hottest period.

Oh for sure. I only remember getting burnt once, it was hot as fuck and I had to paint the outside of this building which took all day. No redness or peeling it just got real sore.

I mean, it took being in the sun all day to do that to me so we just have natural protection. My wife can be in the sun for like half an hour and get burnt.

Maybe but Olive doesn't actually sound too brown. Still pretty fair. I've never been burned but I have a high tolerance level for sun I suppose since I grew up where the rays are a hell of a lot stronger than here in Chicago. However, I would probably put on some sort of sunblock if I ever went to Africa or somewhere right by the equator. But while I am less likely to develop a melanoma... I am more likely to be vitamin D deficient as it takes a lot more sun for my skin to produce vitamin D than someone with fair skin. :(

Same.

:)

Praise the lord for our pigment. No sunburn for us :D

Isn't it funny when you think about it that so many of the worlds problems are caused by nothing more than, as wikipedia puts it, "melanin-based bias in human societies".

Check out this image I found.

Damn Davy... We are not pure whites.

You can't really say "Indians". We don't have one skin color. Up north we are lighter than those down south. South Indians and Sri Lankans be the blackest motherfuckers on earth.
