My PS3 stopped reading discs about a year ago. I kept using it because it still reads my USB pen and anything that's already on it. Today I decided I'm gonna have it fixed, so before phoning the place I bought it from I looked around online to see if it was a common problem (which it was).
So I stumble across people typing something like this:
"I've had my 80 GB PS3 for almsot 2 years now and it recently stopped reading discs, let alone even spinning them. Now it won't even sign me into Playstation Network...If I had known PS3 was this glitchy and cheap I would have stuck with my 360 wich NEVER gave me problems like this whatsoever...I turn my system on and before it even signs me in it gives me the bullshit error message. Now I have to spend $150 to send it into Sony, who doesn't give a s hit what happens to their faulty consoles. My Internet browser works fine on my PS3 so I know it's not my connection."
This person seems to think that since his one Xbox 360 out of several million didn't go bad on him, and his one Playstation out of several million did, that he would have been better off sticking with it. Like, he thinks it's the fact that he made the change that caused problems for him. What a stupid fucking moron with no sense of perspective. It really pissed me off that he was so dumb and I wanted to scream in his face. Then he uses his anger to paint a picture of a non-caring Sony, and how does he do it? By listing the standard routine procedure for having any faulty console repaired, be it Sony's, Microsoft's or Sega's. You send it, and sending big shit through mail costs money, and no corporation gives a flying fuck about a single customer's device. Spot on with all accusations. What a wonderfully retarded consumer that should die in many fires.
