I'd consider myself a seasoned drinker as long as it's beer. I'm not that bad on that hard liquor, but I try to stay away from mixed drinks and similar bullshit.
With beer I can accurately gauge my limit on any given night and get very close to it. If I'm "in form", over the course of an entire evening/night (say, 10 pm through to 4am) I can happily put away a good gallon+ of beer and shrug it off. Sure I'll be kinda drunk but a far cry from losing-your-trousers-falling-over kind of drunk. The next day I'll have a slight headache and a very satisfied feeling from having chugged away five and a half litres of German quality 5.0% regular pilsner. 75% of the time there are a few spliffs smoked in between as well.
Sadly though, recently I find it harder and harder to get *really* drunk. Not tipsy, but drunk-drunk. Years of consistent beering has built up a decent tolerance towards the stuff. You'll need to pour in close to two gallons over a long course of time (a good 7+ hours) to get me really going.
When it comes to harder stuff, whiskey and vodka go down well. I can't booze-drink whiskey, though. Vodka is fine as long as it's mixed with a spritz of red bull or something similar fruity. 50/50 is the lowest limit though. I don't want my firewater tasting like a popsicle.
Wine, I don't drink it, except in emergencies.
As far as puking goes...I'd say 1 in 15 that the booze falls poorly and I get sick. But usually I can kinda feel it coming, so. Puking isn't a problem for me. if it happens, I'm at home bend over the toilet bowl.
I will say I can probably outdrink 80% of this board. People that I know will rival me in drinking quality are Rukas (he's Polish and eastern euro's can hold their alcohol. plus he's a big guy), Bobbysands (he's irish, so...well, uh, he's irish) and maybe some folks I forgot.
I like threads about drinking.
