turns out the condo I was buying... STILL isn't ready. Why? Because the company rehabbing the vintage greystone was NOT authorized to do the work due to the them not having the correct licenses for the city of Chicago. Although they do have the correct licenses for the city of BUFFALO GROVE which means jack shit to me! Grrrr  The worst part of it all is that the realtor didn't even tell me! I had to call him and he eventually made mention of it like its no big deal! I'm going to be homeless November 1....

bye.

Anyone else to be homeless soon? :(

Sorry lol. That sucks.

But have you anywhere you can move into on a temporary basis while you are waiting. Perhaps you could move in with your mom for a bit?

http://www.legalzoom.com/ try looking through here and see if they have any information that might help. there are some things relating to real estate law information on the site and there are other sites out there like this one.

edit: sorry i forgot legalzoom is more about legal documents, but if you qualified for small claims court it would help. but there are other sites out there that can give some basic legal advice and what your rights are etc just do a search

^lol at legalzoom. Yeah that's going to help her out.

There a radio host by the name of Bill Handle (fellow CSUN alumn) who host's Handle on the Law. Email him and he will get some lawyers to read it and maybe you might have a case.

btw read your contract, does it stipulate anything on that matter of you moving in this month. Tell us what does your contract state in the matter that you cannot move in to your condo based on their fault?

Thanks. Right now i'm waiting on his broker to get back to me. If he doesn't, then i'll go to the OBRE which is like the governing body over real estate it seems. If all that fails, i'll file the report with OBRE and then take them to small claims court. Turns out it should only cost like $150 and then i'll get my money and probably extras. One step at a time...
