exactly. what, because they don't move with legs and dont have eyes they're not considered living things? they still breathe, they still eat - so they are living. We control their production - we have farms for that shit. Likewise we have animal farms too.
LOL. Whatever. Plants have no nerves, no internal systems, no brain, no way to process thought or emotion or memory or have a consciousness.
Look, I am not against eating something that is "living" I am against killing animals that have thoughts, feel fear, pain, suffering, sorrow, and who given a choice would not want to die. Plants are not able to make any sort of choice because they dont think.
To be honest, if we could grow meat, cloned somehow, in a lab, like, just a leg of ham, without it having a life, I would be cool with eating it. Like scientists grow spare parts for humans. Actually I think that will probably happen in the future anyway.
It's not eating meat I am against, it is ending a life. All this talk about plans and this and that is just changing your focus from the real issue and clouding the whole discussion with useless bullshit.
Seriously, I thought that any rational person could understand the huge difference between slitting the throat of a conscious sentient animal and picking some fruit or a vegetable. I guess I overestimated some of the member's intelligence.
