We are animals.
What you are saying here is that you are denying the theory of evolution?
If not then you and believe we were once possibly an ape, if not at least Neanderthal man, at which time our intelligence level was no more than most other animals, and relied on our instinct to eat meat and vegetation to survive, and instinct is what makes us Human.
How am I denying the theory of evolution? I'm not at all.
Yes, humans evolved from apes.
Apes, in case you haven't noticed...................
are vegetarian.
So in this case you are saying we should deny our instinct as a Human because we have become smart enough to drive cars and make computers?
Intelligence has nothing to do with compassionate choice, compassion is an emotion, not an intellect, and emotion does not make a decision a right choice. For example, hate is an emotion, so if I hate someone enough to kill them, that makes that the right choice? No.
There is no human instinct that says to eat meat. By that logic I would have had an instinct to eat some meat since I've been vegetarian. But I haven't. I know people that have been vegetarian their entire lives that have not once had a single urge to eat any meat. So sorry to bust your bubble Gotti but you are WAY off the mark with that one.
And furthermore you missed my point. We as humans have the intelligence to make the compassionate choice instead of the detrimental one.
if you hate someone enough to kill them, you made the detrimental choice in that scenario and not the compassionate one. But if that, in your mind, was the right choice and you were aware that it was the detrimental one, then that is on your shoulders and you are a murderer.
If you eat meat knowing that it's the detrimental choice over the compassionate choice of being a vegetarian, then you are also a murderer and an inconsiderate being.
Animals who are carnivores do not have the intelligence to make any kind of choice, it is beyond their limited understanding.
I can understand people becoming upset because of the way animals are treated. Even I agree, but that isn't a good enough reason why I should deny being Human.
Once again, how are you denying being human? That's some bullshit man.
You're sounding real ignorant about the ways of the world right now bro. World hunger doesn't exist because of a lack of food. Take an economics class or two and learn a little something.
LOL at a carcass-eater calling a vegetarian ignorant. Hypocritical much? I think you need to learn a little something, enjoy.
Why Animal Agriculture Doesn't Add Up
The more meat we eat, the fewer people we can feed. If everyone on Earth received 25 percent of his or her calories from animal products, only 3.2 billion people could be nourished.
Dropping that figure to 15 percent would mean that 4.2 billion people could be fed.4 If everyone went vegan, there would be more than enough food to nourish the world's entire population—more than 6.3 billion people.
The WorldWatch Institute sums this up perfectly, saying, "[M]eat consumption is an inefficient use of grain—the grain is used more efficiently when consumed by humans. Continued growth in meat output is dependent on feeding grain to animals, creating competition for grain between affluent meat-eaters and the world's poor."5
The average adult human burns about 2,000 calories per day, just living his or her life. We use almost all the calories that we consume to move around, breathe, and do everyday tasks. The same is true of farmed animals. For every pound of food that they are fed, only a fraction of the calories are returned in the form of edible flesh. This is why, according to Compassion in World Farming, it takes up to 16 pounds of grain to produce just 1 pound of edible animal flesh.6 According to the USDA and the United Nations, using an acre of land to raise cattle for slaughter yields 20 pounds of usable protein. That same acre would yield 356 pounds of protein if soybeans were grown instead—more than 17 times as much!7
Producing the grain that is used to feed farmed animals requires vast amounts of water. It takes about 300 gallons of water per day to produce food for a vegan, and more than 4,000 gallons of water per day to produce food for a meat-eater.8,9 You save more water by not eating a pound of beef than you do by not showering for an entire year.10
It should be no surprise, then, that food for a vegan can be produced on only 1/6 of an acre of land, while it takes 3 1/4 acres of land to produce food for a meat-eater.11 If we added up all the arable land on the planet and divided it equally, every human would get 2/3 of an acre—more than enough to sustain a vegetarian diet, but not nearly enough to sustain a meat-eater.12
Dr. Waldo Bello, executive director of the Institute for Food and Development Policy, concurs that raising animals for meat is a waste of resources, stating, "The American fast-food diet and the meat-eating habits of the wealthy around the world support a world food system that diverts food resources from the hungry."13 Researchers and policymakers who study the problem of world hunger agree that we have plenty of resources to feed vegans, but not nearly enough to feed our addiction to meat.
Watch your mouth, little boy! There's females present!
No, I mean...if you were a sheep, would you fuck another sheep if you were a sheep?
I know that movie off by heart, Mr. Stredwick! Don't think you can out quote me when it comes to Jay and Silent Bob!
i love beef, i love chicken, and i really love porking your wife

She told me that when you pulled down your pants it was so small that she thought you were a woman with an oversized clit. Then she pointed and laughed as the cops dragged you into their van. I suggest you stop stripping down in the windows of old folks homes while people are walking past. It's not a healthy habit.
Its a personal choice, but veggie food bores the fuck outta me. And no i dont feel bad about eating meat, none moreso than a tiger feels about eating a zebra. Oh yeah and rice milk sucks.
I guarantee you that if you had some home-cooked Indian vegetarian food you would immediately retract that statement. I've never tasted anything better than my auntie's okra sabji and tarka dhal, and I've been around the world with specific contractual obligations that state the promoter must take us to the best restaurants in the area.
Rice Milk rocks, but I also had Oat Milk the other day which also rocks. But hey, if you want to get osteoporosis and enjoy drinking blood and pus, more power to ya!
You really think if countries had that kind of land available after stopping the breeding of animals, they'd really use it for vegetables? You don't think they'd sell off the land to be used for residential/industrial areas?
Eating meat doesn't contribute to the death of humans, it contributes to the death of animals. Don't be mellow dramatic about this issue because you choose not to eat meat. Its a choice and everyone has the right to it.
To your first point, that's completely irrelevant. And no, most of them wouldn't as it is FARMLAND. Farmers don't know how to sell of their land for industrial use.
As for your second point.....well.....you got schooled by Jokerman.
I smoke, so I didnt give up meat because it is bad for me, although I know it is. I simply do not want to be involved with the murder of animals.
It occurred to me the other week that I do not eat veal and lamb because baby cows and sheep are cute and I feel bad eating them. Ive always been like this, preferring steak to veal and never eating lamb. I realized in my revelation that being "cute" does not mean your life is any more valid than something else's; cute animals have no more of a right to live than ugly animals and vice versa, life is life.
Can you guys imagine if we killed humans based on their attractiveness?
I then realized that I do not want to eat any meat, and will not have my dictated by the appearance of the animal that is slaughtered.
Animals have families, parents, it is life, and they have done nothing to me, so I will not take that from them. If a dog attacked me, I would snap it's neck, but I will not be involved in the murder of an animal that has caused me no harm.
You guys dont have to follow my footsteps, I dont preach, but if you seriously can not at least follow my rational and see my point on life, I feel sorry for you.
I love Salmon and used to eat a lot of it when I ate meat, even though it can be bad for you. Salmon is at the top of it's food chain and thus absorbs all of the toxins in the water through what it eats, and what its food ate, thus the toxin levels can become very high. Same with tuna. Humans usually do not eat animals at the top of the food chain for this reason.
I dont know if chicken is bad for you, but if all you are concerned about is what is good for you and what is bad for you, you can get the same benefits as chicken gives from other non-animal based foods so why take a life?
People wont eat dogs and three year old children why? Because they are friendly and intelligent, they have personalities. Well, pigs are smarter than both, yet be bread them simply to kill them.
I wouldnt eat my dog, and I wouldnt eat my three year old, so why should I eat a pig?
We are on the same page
