my cousin has about 9 or 10 DVD's with every single reason refill. They gave them to him because he produced the demonstration track on Reason 3 and also he did a remix with me on it, for one of the artists on the label that propellerheads have on the side.... I will get copies of all of them off him soon and then i'll sort through them and see if i can upload a couple of good ones for ya!

well the thing is rizzle, a lot of them are actually just the kits that are given to top producers like my cousin, ones that aren't for sale - and if they leaked out into the general public it would be a bit fucked up. I could send you a few of them, tho, or upload some of the good ones, like i said.

also i don't got a dvd-burner, lol.

i had about 100gb on like 30 DVDs, but since i have gone through them all, i have deleted about 70-80 GB! all the junk ones. i still have the best ones though, the ones that arent home-made but are made from companies that use new samples, not tweaks of old ones.
wish i could upload, but you know the warez policy now. i have learnt my lesson from my last thread... :(

kits that are only for the top-producers? i doubt Propellerhead would do this, giving special stuff to a select few. how good could it be that it cant be released to the public? all the sounds can easily be imitated, and any really nice drums can be achieved using right drum layering techniques and effects like compression/eq... in fact, the better the kits were, the more they would likely release to the public. i cant see sound engineers getting paid top dollar by Propellerhead and aim to make a product that is better than previous models, but is not going to make them any money. they could make millions releasing it, and claim to be the best soft-synth around. i dont see the logic there buddy....

I don't see why drum sounds would get blocked. Are they actual rips off retail products? Or just kits that some people sell on the net or by mail order?

If they don't have names and are just drum sounds you have, then I'd say they aren't warez and upload away, if you wish to that is.

lots of drum kits, sample kits, loop kits, refills, vstis, and so forth, are sold as retail products on cds.

Yeah I know. But if it isn't a retail cd and just a selection of drumkits. Is that retail?? Nah mean.

It may not be logical, but it's true, whether or not you choose to believe it. But hey, my cousin Subs did the demo song for Reason 3, and I did a song for Propellerheads label, so what do i know. Oh btw, i'd love to know if you know any top producers that can confirm. Cause last, time I checked, my cousin - who is the producer and guitarist in my band has sold over 30 million records.

im not gonna go through all the DVDs because i dont use Reason that much, but go to:

http://www.sonicreality.com/products2.php?filter=refills

Sonic Reality makes the BEST Reason refills you can get. they dont just tweak old samples from the Soundbank. i have all of them, and i must say they are spectabulous... Instruments of the 60s and 70s just blew my mind when i thought it would be pathetic. definitely check them out. you won't be disappointed!

most of the samples i have are off retail products like sound modules (the Mo' Phatt has the best drums here...) and sample sites like Sample Kings, ModernBeats, p5Audio etc, of which i have nearly all the drums. then i have stuff like 'Urban Jointz' from EastWest, who are known for their quality. i dont care much for the synths but bought it solely for the drum kits, which there are not too much of, but are all quality.
continuing my rambling, from years of exploration into the construction of my own drums from other drums, i have made the best drum collection i possess, by layering. sure it sounds easy, but its really not if you want go get a good hit.
you cant layer overprocessed drums, the best are simple ones with slightly different harmonics. if you get the same type of hit it will clash in some frequency ranges and cause the sound to be crap. :) but before layering its a good idea to EQ so you have two distinct harmonic identities. then after layering, compress (not too much...) to keep some frequencies from standing out uncomfortably. then the rest is just trial and error. this is the best way you will get nice and clean hits.

who is your cousin? what is this propellerhead's label called?
what song did you produce? i'd like to get some credits here. don't say you ghost-produced or there is no credits because its a mixtape or something... i bet i (and some others on this board) have better drums than your cousin anyway, so there's no big deal.
so lemme know the info on that label and the song you produced. and congratulations

Thanks for the props man. My cousin is [edit]. He produced the demo song for Reason 3. Check out his Multimedia CV on his site, [edit] and you will see it on there. [edit] and his brother [edit] AKA [edit] of the band [edit] (I'm the frontman/MC of the band) produced Shania Twain's last album "Up!" (30 Million sold to date)

[edit]

The label that is run by Reason is called swamaica. (similar to the name but nothing to do with my band [edit])

The first artist they signed was an r'n'b singer named Gigi, and they have put out a promo single of a song named "Masquerade" as the first release. The promo disc had the song "masquerade" original version produced by the reason guys, and a remix produced by my cousin subs, which featured me on it.

I just did that feature for the cash though, really, my band is my priority.

I'm glad to hear that you have some great drum sounds. we do too! make sure you utilize them to good effect and i'd love to hear what you do with them.
