My boyfriend has been nagging and nagging me about getting a MAC. I didn't see the need for one, I've never used one extensively plus we have two PC notebooks and a desktop, wtf do we need with a MAC?

Anyways, found a MAC on craigslist for $850. It came with Microsoft Office, CS3, a gang of Adobe programs, and Leopard. Pretty much about $1500 worth of software if not more.

Top it all off with a $40 desk and $20 chair from Ikea and i'm in love. This MAC pwns the hell out of any PC every made. I'm trying to figure out how to trade my notebook for a macbook.

MAC is AWESOME!

That is all.

Yeah, one of the more difficult parts of the MAC is getting used to the different set up but it's all so easy and for lack of a better word, clean. Even just the power cords and such, only two, it just looks so clean, lol. Plus there's the parallel so that you can run windows on the MAC.

Welcome to the club :). It's always good to see a new convert on the board. You're now in a hassle-free environment. I recommend getting the mighty mouse instead of using the track pad. The track pad is nice, but when you're sitting at a desk, the mouse is so much better than an ordinary mouse for windows. If you use the Spaces application, the mouse does that with a click of a button and you can bring up your widgets must faster, etc. I can't explain in full detail why its good, but I think you'd like it.

jacked this from thebestpageintheuniverse.net

One thing PC users can do that Mac users can't:

Ever notice how most Mac users are skinny? It's because of all the calories they burn because they can't shut the fuck up about how great their Macs are. What is it about Apple that makes its users unable to shut their mouths? Everywhere I go, there's another asshole with a Mac preaching about how much better Macs are than PCs. They regurgitate lines directly from Apple's marketing campaign, like "it just works." I have the following rebuttals to this argument:

1. If everything on a Mac just works, then why does a website called "Mac fix it" exist, assholes? Here are a few choice topics on macfixitforums.com:

-Login window stuck!
-lower caSe "S" key not working!!
-Menu bar keeps flashing
-I can't drag and drop!

Waaaah, boo hoo! I can't drag and drop! Dumbass. Looks like your Macs aren't perfect after all, which leads me to my second point:

2. Fuck you.

I don't know why Mac users get so defensive when you call them idiots. I mean, Apple is a company that has built its entire user base around the fact that its users can't do simple things like turn their computers on. Hell, most Mac users can't even talk without using their hands, which ranks their intelligence somewhere between a simian and hog shit:

Stupid user base aside, I will never own a Mac. It's not so much that I'm a PC loyalist. I'm not. It's that I'm not stylish enough to own one. Most iPod commercials feature guys with long hair, chicks roller skating, and guys wearing fedoras. I have dandruff, and I buy most of my jeans from a grocery store. I feel like in order to have a Mac, I need to be:

# An artist.
# In a band.
# Unemployed (see above).

After the recent Apple conference, Mac fans were elated. One person was quoted as saying "I've had a Macintosh now for a total of 35 days, and I'm really excited to be part of the Mac community." Part of the Mac community? It's a computer, not a social movement, asshole! I feel like Apple is not just selling computers, they're selling a way of life, and I'm not ready to be that heavily invested in a product. I think this parody helps illustrate Apple's unspoken message:

iTunes is the new Real Player:

In doing research for this article, I decided to reinstall iTunes, a program I hadn't used since version 4 (now on 7). Here it is, just working:

Back in the late 90s, everyone used Real Player. Then those cocks at Real Network got greedy, and tried to get their application to take over your entire PC, and people stopped using it. Same thing is happening with Quicktime now. You can't install Quicktime anymore unless you download bullshit iTunes. This section was supposed to be longer, but I couldn't even install iTunes so I could bitch about it. Not that I could have used it for what I wanted to anyway:

From the actual iTunes End User License Agreement.

If I want to manufacture biological weapons with my copy of iTunes, I will, fascists. Ditch this bullshit.

Why did everyone come in here defending PCs? Was there even a debate started? Really? Shut your fucking mouth.

I've said plenty of times that it's all about preference. And I've never gave unfavorable opinions of Windows, only facts. If you want a user experience without viruses, adware, spyware, etc, then Windows isn't for you. That's not saying Mac's are invulnerable, they just dont have a large marketshare for people to care to hack a mac. So there, they are virus-free, they have a cleaner look. And they are geared more towards what I like doing. If I want to follow the business model, that's what I have a Windows PC at work for. So I hope none of this b.s. was aimed at me.

Youre using an instance of iTunes on Windows not working to defending Windows. Good job.

Also, here's an idea: come up with your own words.

Lol no one is defending PCs. The Maddox article isn't even about MAC being bad, it's about MAC users not being able to shut the fuck about it. And Maddox articles are hardly serious.

Sometimes people are weird.

I didn't say it was "pretty" or "cute" I said it was "clean" as in everything is where you need it without being cluttered and wasting space. One small compact thing makes everything work.

Why is everyone so uptight about me saying I have a MAC, lmao, geesh.

And I made one thread I was hardly bashing PC and praising MACS. So the posts in reference to MAC users not being able to shut up about them is relevant how? Other than being old as hell, everyone has seen it before.

Also I think the reason MAC users brag about MACs is because most people constantly use PCs and when they are finally exposed to a MAC and see the difference, they are a bit excited. Same as someone who has only watched regular DVDs and now they have Blue Ray, blah blah blah
