Official message from Candyman 187 regarding "And 2Morrow"

#1
The 2 representatives from amaru claim that my verse was taken off "And 2morrow" due to "a word interpolation" in my rhymes. When asked "which line it was?" we did not receive any answer. This leaves us all wondering how an original rhyme of mine, a poem, that Tupac loved and had helped me finish, is considered an interpolation.

Why is it that everyone who was involved with Tupac Shakur during his life, who loved him, made music with him, lived with him, cried with him, and would die for him, seem to be the only ones that are treated with disrespect and contempt (i.e. Yaasmyn Fula, Storm, Yaki Kadafi, Mopreme Shakur, Spice 1, and all the others). People such as Dina Lapolt, who didn't even know Tupac Amaru Shakur, continue to make decisions that denigrate his life, legacy, and his music.

This was disrespectful not only to Tupac, Kadafi, Roniece, Money B, 5th, Donny Rizzo, myself (Candyman 187), and all the other artists, but most of all to Shock G and the fans. Amaru took a masterpiece and completely destroyed it. We are all very disappointed with Amaru's decision to allow personal feelings and opinions to affect artistic decisions when it comes to TUPAC AMARU SHAKUR's Albums. The love and feeling that we put in to the original song does not at all reflect what was put out. Shock even turned in 2 different versions of the song, one which didnt have my verse and one with the verse.

Not only did they remove my verse, they also completely changed the feel of the song as Shock G had produced it. This IS NOT what Shock G turned in. It is a gross insult to any producer to take their original mix, and revise it without their knowledge and consent.

As of now all I can say is that I am very dissapointed in Amaru, a label that we had a lot of trust and faith in. We are all very hurt.

This is a slap in the face of everything Tupac Amaru Shakur stood for. Above all else Pac made sure people who he loved and worked with were respected.

Nothing but love and respect for Mamma Shakur as we have been told that she had no knowledge of this.

It happened to me on the situation -Soldier Like Me-O>G (Judgement Day) and all i can say is like before WHAT A DAMN SHAME real folks know the real and you can never hide where the real art came from no matter what these folks do to manipulate art pieces of music.Just makes the original work more valuable and in tune and more wanted.Such a crying shame, keep ya head up CANDYMAN and SHOCK if anything the true reigns in the aftermath of destruction!

I feel you damn...
It probably won't work but you could always have a meeting with Afeni as a group and have a chat about this stuff, you as in Shock G, Candyman 187, Mopreme etc. have much more power than some fan petitions.
Even though Afeni had nothing to do with it, she can change alot if you really address this to her.

Am I wrong, but I think it's the first official proclamation against Amaru. I am too far from this rap industry 2 judge, but all I can see are some "producers" (or whoever claims to be) who just ruin the original feeling of a song, telling shit why they did that. Can somebody explain why the original producers (like Assassin, or Shock G) have no rights in this situation 2 tell "stop, we (Pac) wanted it that way". What is really going on is misplacing 2pac with a crap shit vibez nobody wanna listen too, by producers who have never worked with 2pac. Anyway I think they don't really give a damn about our opinion...and that's pity...

And she didnt even give you (Assassin) credit for the song...

I cant believe that Afeni would allow Dina LaPolt to make final album decisions. If he used a "word interpletation" (SP) then withhold the release until you clear the interpolation. Don't just run to the studio, spent 5 minutes changing the beat, take a verse off and ship it without telling your CEO you changed it.

"Ask Myself" from Changes/ I Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto

They couldn't clear their own artist's song???????

I thought if it was less than 3 seconds you didn't need clearance?

I just listened to the whole verse, it sounds rather original..although you could change some of the words around to form some typical pac lyrics...

"Since the days of a seed" "Hate & Misery" "Even if im wrong i gotta make my songs pay""Just lost another homie""Quickly going under""world's gone crazy" etc.

First ive heard from Candyman I gotta say its pretty deep.

The only artist I can picture you sampling is 2pac lol. Unless the revolutionary speaker was an uncleared sample..not sure who the guy speaking is.

To me, your verse was the first time i felt the true presence of Tupac after his death. It's almost crazy, how you make Pac feel so much alive through your voice. I can truly feel how you've been touched by Pac's message and love, for his friend. There's a difference between biting and been influenced, and i truly feel that you've been influenced by Tupac. I love your verse, and i promise you, that even though the song didn't make the final cut, which is absolutely ridicilous, your voice has been heard, and you touched our hearts deeply.

I can't wait to hear more music coming from your way!

Peace!

Nothing will change, until fans do more then just speculate. They are just laughing at us, if they can spoil Pac's music like that. Damn, it's a worldwide thing, it's a disrespect towards millions of fans, and we can do nothing but sitting infront of the keyboard typing our thoughts out. Look, even the petitions don't work. If we could make them release Pac in his original form, let it be not so modern BUT IT WILL BE OUR 2PAC, Pac we will listen to over and over.

STOP SUPPORTING AMARU, don't buy 2Pac's stuff if ya want to see some changes.
If Afeni isn't aware of what's going on, then she must change the Amaru stuff, in favor of people who worked with Pac, or can feel him and the fans.
