My dreams are very weird

#1
I had a very odd dream last night. I was on holiday with my family, staying at some kind of hotel. The weirdness wasn't because of what happened in the dream, but the amount of detail. At one point I was watching a TV show, a completely fictitious sitcom that I'd somehow dreamt up and put in my dream. It was a really bad show, but I felt like I'd seen it before. I knew the characters, I knew the general plot. I seemed to know the hotel, too. I'd walk down a corridor and know that I was heading in the wrong direction, because (in my dream) I'd been their before. The weirdest thing, though, is that I was listening to my iPod in the dream. I was listening to a song I hadn't heard before (unsurprising, I probably haven't heard most of the stuff on my iPod). It was an old song, I kinda liked it, so I gave it a 5 star rating so that I'd be able to find it after I woke up. I'm a genius. Anyway, I woke up with it still in my head, trying to think what song it was, and it doesn't exist. I made it up, in a dream. I couldn't write a song to save my life with my eyes open, but apparently in my dreams I'm quite the Burt Bacharach.

Where the hell does this stuff come from?

i can completely relate to this. many times ive woken up and thought "how the fuck did i just come up with that?"

every so often id have a dream containing faces and people who i have never seen in my life. i dont recognise them, they are not familiar people, but yet they - at times - play a significant role. who the fuck are these people? some say it's like the random people you see day to day, who only seem to register in your sub conscious or some shit. to me that sounds like a load of shit tho. it's too fucked up.

you're smart so read some shit on dreams and find out that the dream world is an obscure place. there is a lot of differences in opinions and doubt in studies when it comes to dreams, and generally, i don't think we understand dreams and nighttime brain activity as much as we'd like.

i saw this special on dreams and sleep. the whole thing showed you you do all kinds of crazy stuff during night and how your brain is almost more active at night than during the day. the whole documentary talked about a bunch of shit and summed it up as this: you're crazy while you're sleeping in order to stay sane during the day. like you transcend into your opposite self while in a state of not being able to actually do something dangerous to let out bottled-up feelings. i got really into that whole thing lol, it sounded so cool. makes me think about dexter, the end of season 2 and an idea transcended into life. refer to my avatar and title.

as to your dream, it is very likely that you fell into a state of sleep that is common where your dreams are vivid and you can interact with them. that thing about remembering something when you wake up, i have thought that to myself in a dream too. i remember in one dream i was working this girl and throughout the whole dream i kept hoping this dream wouldn't end like any other dream, right before i get to "see anything". i was gonna eat her out in a hotel room somewhere like on an island in the mediterranean sea. when i got her panties off her pussy had like, i dunno, wires and circuits and shit embedded in it. a robot pussy. lol it's no joke. anyway my point was that i experienced that state of being aware that you are dreaming and trying to control it before. never like how you explained though.

oh, also, someone told me that if you want to remember your dreams better, like generally, you should start writing down your dreams the instant you wake up while you still remember them. be as graphic and explain them on as many levels as possible. go over them later, rinse and repeat for a period of time and you somehow gain an ability to remember your dreams much better and also (i think?) dream more often. i'm too lazy to try but anyone heard or tried the same?

That is weird but it's also really cool. You should try to write them down, as much as you can remember, maybe it'll help you be the next big song writer or tv show producer.

Dreams are a strange subject for me because I smoke weed on a regular basis so remembering them is hard. When I do remember dreams it is often days later. Oddly what I do remember from revolve around the subject of my teeth falling out, bus stations and shopping centres.

I know what my dream was last night. I was at a party with my b.f. In the dream there were doors with bra sizes on them. Like the DD room :/ lol. I'm just standing in the hall looking at the doors bc I didn't really wanna go in. Then some skinny girl grabs me and says "You're in the fake room" and I yell at her and say "NOO these are mine" and she grabs my chest and puts my hand on hers and says "OH I guess they are" and hers felt like a rock. Then I left the party.

I know why I had this dream....girls always ask my b.f. if my boobs are real. Usually older women. It pisses me off...I would not buy breasts this small but whatever. AND the skinny girl in the dream was a girl I went to HS with. We were frienemies. I saw her a few weeks ago at a strip club. :D She's a stripper now. She doesn't have fake breasts though...she only has nipples. I bet that sucks for her that I saw her naked and gave her 1 dollar :D.....Karma

From my own experience, my dreams tend to be a response to something that is often on my mind.

It does not come as a surprise to me that you're dreaming of television shows. You follow like what, 10 of them?

What gets to me, what I don't like, is when I'm on the verge of dreaming or falling asleep, then all of a sudden as I'm slipping into another state of consciousness, I 'jump' awake like I have just received some kind of electric shock or something.

But my dreams are strange also. I kinda like them to be though. I can have a really good strange dream and then not remember about it until later on in the day. When something reminds me of it, whatever.

It would be good if there was something that could induce the dreamlike state. I'm not talking about hallucinogens or trips, just something that could bring about sleep and the dreamlike state, and sustain it.

I can control myself in real life and like go to sleep whenever I want. Is this normal?
No way. I read something about this. Sorry for being vague, but it's floating at the top of my head due to some recent article. But you should definitely have that checked out.
