Cats fuck up your furniture. Whether it be scratches or just all the damn hair they leave on them...which leads to Clothes too.
Cats get lazy and ignore you, even if you are a great pet owner.
Cats are less civilized in the wild than any wild Dog I have seen b/c they use strategy. There is a reason why there is hunting dogs.
Dogs shed too, that's why you brush pets - and if you want to talk about grooming, cats are always cleaning themselves.
I've seen dogs fuck up clothes, furniture, etc. They are more vicious in this matter. For cats, you just take a preventative measure like clipping its claws and getting a scratching post (yes, you have to teach them to use the scratching post)
Cats aren't lazy - they just know better than to be a slave of humans.
I have a cat that runs to me when I come home. He's always looking for an opportunity to get on my lap. He is always following me around for that extra loving. He can sense emotion in my voice and will come to investigate if I'm upset. He does this because him and I have had a strong bond ever since he came home with me. To him, I'm his parent.
I had a cat that died from Leukemia a few years ago and while he was sick, my female cat Maki was by his side all day, licking him. She knew something was wrong. Ume, the cat that passed on, also had a very strong bond with me but not so much because he was adopted later in life.
If you want to talk about how cats sense trouble - just google for stories about cats who saved their owners from a house fire by alerting them.
If you want to talk about wolf like characteristics that dogs have - just turn on Discovery channel and watch cheetahs hunt together. You might not find packs of domesticated cats hunting together but you can find plenty of cats that are fully capable of catching a prey on its own.
