brief history for those who didn't already know...
live squad and pac had affiliation for a long time... pretty much since pac had started rapping stretch and the live squad had also performed at his shows. pac had introduced stretch and majesty to ed lover (co-host of yo! mtv raps) who subsequently got them signed to tommy boy records. tommy boy was a fledgling label when it came to hip hop at that time, and so signing live squad was a big change in comparison to their more radio friendly rappers (queen latifah, flavor unit, etc). ultimately live squad's hardcore style got them dropped from tommy boy (they elected to put out house of pain instead of live squad) before they had the chance to make any official full-length release. they did at least release a couple promos, including game of survival and murderrah/heartless. e-moneybags and maj started making indie moves, and stretch mostly made appearances on pac records (thug life vol 1 was a big one). as biggie came up and rolled with pac initially, stretch, big, and pac were big names together (evidenced by the live show from maryland). when pac went to jail in 95 after being shot, he blamed biggie of course, and when stretch continued performing with biggie (the man had to eat after all) pac perceived that as stretch having switched sides and allied with bad boy instead of holding it down for him ("switched sides, guess his new homeboys wanted him dead"). stretch was killed in queens after a brief car chase and gunfight that was likely over drugs/drug money. somewhere in this mess the live squad managed to film an ultra-violent minimovie, that is now available on dvd along with a bonus audio cd.
Live was a nice crew.

stertch thing was strange how it all went in course with time & shit; bein killed almost exactly 2 the minutes after the pac shootin.
i think i read somewhere that Pac was one of the ones who went 2 stretches funeral, and nobody from Bad boy even showed up.

peace

Has anybody got any info on the YG'z and how they were "Stretch's crew"?

I got a few of their releases, they were a Queens group and released Do Or Die single and Street Nigga EP in '90 and '93 respectfully on Reprise Records, but there's no mention of Live Squad on their inlays, not even in the "Thanks yous" section.

I'm guessing that this is the same YGz that Stretch and Pac always mention whenever they collab together, I'm just assuming this cuz the dates and locations match up with Live Squad, their styles are also kinda similar. If this isn't the same crew I would really appreciate any more info.

Peace.

The site's just about done and it will be upped very soon, I still need a graphical interface and site logos, if anyone is experienced in this and could help out I can probably hook you up with some Live Squad material.

Email me on Mr_Matt@live-squad.com

Thanks.

Live Squad was Stretch, Majesty and K-Low.

Those other guys mentioned above were part of other crews Live Squad were associated with, the YG'z were the Young Gunz, MoneyBags was E-Moneybags ('Big Time' with Pac and Live Squad was his track) and he was co-owner of the record label 'Grand Imperial' with Majesty.

Peace.
Is this the same Young Gunz that The Game was beefin with. The ones that released the Cant Stop Wont Stop song. I think they were on Roc-A-Fella???

Just out of curiousity how did you access the site? It's not linked to the index page and the main site is still under construction, what did you see??

Oh shit, it is linked! It's not supposed to be!!

I upped it for a couple of days then got a whole load of new info so I thought I took it down again to re-format it, which is why the menus at the top look unfinished.

I have a lot of new stuff to add, so it's gonna be unlinked again until it's completed. It will be back and be much better...

Peace.
