I was curious to know how to make beats on your computer.

I did a little research and here is what i found for anyone who is interested in beat making as well.

If more people could add to this thread that would be great.

You can read up on a few tips and tricks on here:

http://gnxmusic.com/make_beats.html

This one is a no brainer:

http://www.fruityloops.com/

This one i found funny:

If you are really serious about making hip hop beats then i would suggest reading this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hip_hop_production

on here you can probably find a god tutorial or two but i didnt find it that resourceful:

http://www.warbeats.com/Forums/tabid/59/afgroup/7/Default.aspx

This is a good video. Using Kreative Sounds 3.0 making the T.I beat:

Thats all i found for now if i find anything else i'll post it.

If this is the wrong forum to post it in please move it and i am sorry.

I am new to this so if you guys know better websites and software please post it in here.

it's just all about finding which programs work for you. the new fruity loops is pretty great from where it started from. pretty much a full blown DAW.

a lot of people like reason.

other people like myself like hardware.

it's a little weird to tell someone how to make a beat because its almost like telling someone how to be creative.

start out with a software you are interested in and start playing with it. when i got into it, i started out with drum machines. i didnt have anyone to teach me how to make a pattern on the drum machine i just learned on my own by playing with it.

this probably doesnt help at all but just my two cents

It all depends on what you feel comfortable with. Acid Pro, Reason, FL, Pro Tools, it's not what you have it's how you use it.

i couldn't answer this when my cuzzin' asked me this....he asked me to teach him how to use software like reason n' fl....but seems like if i did that than he'd end up making music like me...i learned all my shit from trial n' error...looked at the manual once in awhile

Well i am not really looking for people to tell me how to make beat patterns or even how to use a software. Althought it would help if you could direct me to a tutorial.
Did you all just learn the software by trial an error? Whats the best software to use? where do you get your loops or do you make your own?

Basically i just am trying to compile tutorials, guides and tips for everyone in the future who is interested in this as well. Maybe we can even sticky it.
