...are you when it comes to your mp3s? Do you name them in a certain way? Do you edit the tags to show the correct information? Do you edit in producer/record label/year/genre etc? When there's an error in the mp3, like static or a small pop, do you re-download the track?

I'm crazy about it. I keep the same format when naming em all, not too worried about year genre etc but title and everything is a must. I search for the right featured artists etc etc. When I dl an album i keep it on my desktop until I make em all perfect then throw em in my music folder, sometimes i get 70+ albums on my desktop and i spend two days doin it all. It's worth it though.

I used to have dial-up for the longest time, but it never stopped me from downloading a shitload of music. Back then though, it was mostly 128 quality. Nowwww.. shit comes in far better quality. So I basically re-downloaded my whole collection this past year. That's like 700+ albums! I have well over 1,000 now though. As far as tagging them, i'm not real picky. I don't have the time to have them all tagged a certain way. I used to take all tags off actually and I had ALL my songs in one folder a few years back. Then I eventually made folders for all artists/albums and moved them all to where they should be.

So as of now, I have a folder labeled mp3s and inside of that, are artist folders. Inside of those, are album folders. So for example, it would be like e:\mp3s\Eminem\Slim Shady LP\. As far as inside the id tags, i'm not real picky. I don't care about anything besides artist and track name really. They're all inside the album folder they should be in, so album name doesn't matter much.

I dont download much music these days since everything coming out is pretty much crap these days. But i have been ripping all my old albums onto my comp and im not really anal about how i label them. I just usually tag them with the artist name, album, and i pretty much just put them in the right genre folder.

Pretty well organised, tags, covers etc sorted by artist/album

but got a massive folder called unsorted music....shit needs sorting.

If I hear a song and something is wrong with it, yeah.. i'll either download the album again or the song its self. Also, I delete all covers and other non-mp3 files when I arrange the shit. No need for that nonsense. More room for music. :thumb:

I'm just the opposite. If the song sounds perfect with no glitches, I'll delete it and look for one with glitches or DJ Get Busy shouting throughout. Also, I look for files with no information whatsoever, and change the ones I have to the wrong info.
