...guy problems

Heyy girls!! Lol this is like I think my first post in this forum! Its about time theres a place for only girls in it!!

Alrite well I kinda have a little problem with this guy in my class...His names Miguel and hes so cute! But the problem is that hes like a skater and I'm like one of those 'preppie' people and well we both just don't like talk to each other at all because of that! I'm a freshmen and I thought that only this kinda stuff happened in middle school but its happening in high school too! Like how can I like actually break the ice between us and start talking to him?? I really just wanna be friends with him bcuz hes just so cuteeee n I dont care if we like ever start dating!! Plzzzzz helpp!!

Just had to get that out. :thumb: Anyway, I'm not heaps sure how to break the ice, coz I've never been heaps good at that... not only with guys, but in general... I guess though if you are in a same class, you could use that as an excuse to approach him, ask him something about it and then break into general conversation. If he perceives you as being 'preppy' or whatever, then I think the best thing you can do is be genuine and open, so he can at least see that there is more to you than whatever front appears on the surface.

LOL! I guess I have hecka good luck or somethin cuz him and me are stuck as partners for our country projects!!! and he touched like my hand by accident like 3 times!!! Today was one of the best days in my lifeee!

Don't let "social class differences" stop you from getting to know someone who could potentially be a good friend (or a new boyfriend )

Girl, in HS i ran with like what you would call the "Popular Crowd" because I was a cheerleader and on the Pom Pon team, and at our school, every like "group" of kids had a different table in the lunch room.

But I NEVER let that limit me to who i talked to, I'd hang with everyone from the kids who barely spoke English, to the Skaters/taggers, to the preppie kids who everyone thought was lames.

I mean, if you're confident with yourself, no matter what crew you're labled as a part of, you can interchange crews whenever because no matter what anyone says to you, you won't care and they'll know that so eventually they'll stop trying to give you hell about it.

As for the guy, don't approach him like you're curious about him, just talk to him like you'd talk to one of your friends. Try starting a conversation about something mutual (classes, teachers you hate, similar neighborhood, etc)

But DO NOT try to talk to him about something that he likes that you know nothing about, he'll think you're a poser and that'll make him not like you at all

Thanks alot Synful*luv, ur adive really helped me out on the whole 'group' issue. Im kinda like those kind of people that are really nervous around guys and dont really have that much confidence in myself...

Oh yeah and about Miguel..turns out he already has a girlfriend....Well today I saw him today rite next to the classroom door with this gurl n they were like holding hands and I just thought 'oh its probably his sister or somethin..' so then like we went inside and Ms phelps said that we can start using the computers and start searching up information on our countries. So we both went over to the computer and we just started talking about our favorite movies n all(we never work on school work in class) n then he said that him and his gurl r gonna go watch Red Eye when on saturday when it comes out. N I was like 0_0 'ur gurl?? U mean ur sister that was with u outside??' and he started laughing and he was like thats not my sister idiot that was my girlfriend.

and lilshortie, do what steph said, give other guys a try... if he brokes up with his girl and decides he wants to go out with you (and you still want to go out with him, of course) then it's cool, but don't just wait till that happens.
