Gas price!

The only reason oil has gone up to what it has is because hedge fund speculators and currency and commodities traders are betting and gambling on oil futures and are forcing the price up for their profit. There is no more or less oil being produced, and no more or less being refined. That has remained constant. It’s just purely greed. And yet we actually allow it. We encourage it. Members of Congress say nothing about it. Have you heard a single Presidential candidate, including Obama and Hillary, these so-called great Democrats, say a word about how the American public is being used by people who contribute to their campaigns? This is rampant corruption and not a single politician is addressing it.

The people in the hedge fund market are low-lifes. The people on Wall Street are scum beyond low-lifes. And there’s no word to describe the Presidential candidates. We select the worst, most unspiritual human beings on earth for the most powerful positions. What does that say about us? We select people who are greedy, who surround themselves with opportunists, and who exploit. These elitists who sniff cocaine and run around in private jets hobnobbing with the likes of Bill Clinton and the rest of them. Do you think these people give a damn about anybody? They’re opportunists. They show up and throw money at a problem so they can get an award for humanitarian efforts, and then when you track the money raised you see it doesn’t go to the victims but to the people running the bullshit foundations set up by these people.

When are we going to stop trusting people in power? In all institutions. How about making that your first stop and begin to use the power that you’ve not used in yourself? You have power, but only to the degree that you’re willing to use it by saying no to what you shouldn’t believe in and do, and yes to what you should.

sorry, i work minimum wage (full time w/ no benefits till my year in 1 month), i have no experience so no one will hire me, and those that hire without experience i need to be 21, i just turned 19. Therefore, i would have to make it a career to find a better job, (and yes i seeked help). and yes, i own a honda 96, and a honda 99, and live in my own apartment, and go to college (full time student) with no financial aid...

but you know what? i should stop all my goals, not ever go see any movies and sometimes my family b/c of gas prices. i should just go to work and try for that promotion cuz nothing is handed to me.

oh wait, i was going to get promoted but my manager got fired.
then two months later, my new manager recognized my work ethic and was going to promote me. but after training me, he found out i was too young.

hmmm....

what ever should i do?

I applaud you for your cynical ways but I still don't feel sorry for you, when I was nineteen i went to school full time held down a full time job as an assistant manager had a 2 year old son owned a 97 nissian pickup truck along with a 96 nissian altima my own apartment and still didn't pretend the government owed me something....oh ya i didn't have any financial aid either, you see we all have had it rough at one point or another but some of us don't go around acting like the government should take care of everything or the that big business should all of a sudden one day decide that shadows life is to rough and they should cut back the cost of gas for him, its not going to happen, sometimes family has to take a back seat to your life and your goals, im not saying all the time but some days it happens because that my friend is reality.

You are not to young to be a assistant manager, perhaps to young to be a store manager. I guess it would just really depend on your flexibility seeing as store managers have to be there every time something goes wrong from an employee not showing up to opening the store etc, and from the sound of it, you do not have that luxury because A) gas is an issue and B) you don't have the schedule that permits you to be a store manager since you have a full school load. Also no regional manager or district manager in his right mind would hire a store manager knowing full well that in 4 years down the road he will be moving on to his ACTUAL career that he went to school for. If you don't tell them you plan on making there company your life's work you have no shot in hell. Trust me on this one I got 11 years in retail to back it up with.

yah, but being too young was their excuse. which is bullshit.

i never blamed the gov't. actually, i never blamed anyone.
but if i had to, i would blame the gas companies themselves.

why? b/c i work for them as a cashier and i know what really goes on...

1)

their safes are really small. if they would make them bigger, than they would not have to pay armored vehicle companies so much money to escort it to a bank.

and if there was a reason why they would not make them bigger, than why not advertise to people not to constantly give us $1 bills?

customer after customer, i get $30 in ones or something. and every sat, i get a customer that gives me $80 in ones.

2)

if they followed their policies, they would not get sued $43 thousand for each manager. (Yah, my mom got like $63 thousand from the company) cuz they didnt follow their manager policies correctly.

and right now, they are getting sued again, cuz they have us Cashiers working like we are in sweatshops with no breaks.

They just want to benefit themselves. For instance, a policy my company has is, a cashier is never supposed to be short or over $3.00.

if i was short 3.01 cents, i can potentially get fired, but if i was over $20 cuz most people leave w/out pumping, then they are screwed.

The company says, they will give it back, but managers are appraised for not giving it back, and say that the gas was pumped by someone else, and that they are screwed.

But, they rather think of it as a profit or something.

In reality, they can be getting screwed by the cashier cuz all they have to say is that someone left $20, when in all, i can scan cigs, and void it out like 10 times, and leave myself $20 over, but take the rest of the money.

Now i can go on constantly...but...im going to continue with what u said.

To be an assistant manager at my company, u must be available at nighttime hours, and open full-time on weekends.

That my friend, is my availability...even if i had full-availability, they would not give me control of anything, they would give control to another manager, if my manager had to do a vacation, so it wouldnt matter.

and gas was, and is never an issue for me to go to work. im saying, to go places for entertainment. (outside of work)

but thanks about the tip, i will further push to them about how i will make my company my (future asst. manager job) an always weekend job...b/c they dont always give asst. managers promotions to managers, b/c many people dont like working weekends.

wrote this quick, off to work. pz
