FL studio tutorials

Does anyone have any tutorials on how to use FL studio and detailed info on what every function does and is good for?

Any kind of help would be appreciated and if this is the wrong forum BAN ME! no just move it.

Just experiment. It's by far the best way to learn, though tutorials are good for guidance.

yea i have experomented on my own and found out a few things but a tutorial would really help to organize the little things i have learned on my own. plus it would be good to know how to start off and structure a beat.

^^you cant. you can try and try but you will never get a clean sound.


about the tutorials, my advice is to check the songs that came with the FL and the tutorials that come with em, they are extremely helpfull. if all else fails, head for your manual that came with the program. it might take a while but be patient. if you cant get over the FL hump, find a new hobby.

Getting Started

First go to File>New to start a new project. At the top of the screen change the tempo(speed of the song) to 90. Make sure that the play setting is set to pat(pattern) not song. Now press the ">" button to start playing the current patten.



If you can't see the step sequencer, then go to view>Step Sequencer. Fill in the steps to make the small pattern. You can hear it playing as you are making it.



If you can't see the Playlist, then go to view>Playlist. This is where you can organize your patterns to create complex songs. Make sure that the play setting is set to song not pat(pattern). Press play, if it already, isn't to hear the song.

Changing the Beats Per Bar

If you look at the top left hand corner of the step sequencer, you can see "--". This modifies the beats per bar for the current patern, which allows you to create patterns of variable size to fit your project. Using "--" will give you the default number, which is 4.
