EQ Help?

#1
Me and a friend want to make a Mix tape together, he lives in another state so we will be working over the net togetehr.

Can anyone tell me good softwear for him to record his vocals on?
somethng that he can listen to the beat but record just the vocals and then send them to me to remix down would be best.

and any sugestions for a resonable priced mic?

i dunno much about microphones, but i know that adobe audigy (formerly known as cool edit) or acid pro are programs you can use for vocal recording.

i think rizzle is talking about adobe audition. thats good enough for recording vocals.

and for reasonably priced and reasonable quality mic, i would reccomend and mxl 990.
