Alot of people will disagree with me on this one, but I do not find racist jokes offensive at all.

For two reasons.

Firstly, the only people REALLY offended by racist jokes are only offended because the jokes target is in relation to them. These people are hypocrites. Every body is racist. Every single person stereotypes those that are different to them. Racism isn't just about colour, nationality or religion, nor is "race" just about them either. The word "race" defines any group of people that share elements that make them different from others, be it colour, religion, physical appearance, age, gender or lifestyle choices. Being Fat puts you into a race of Fat people. Being a fan of Eminem puts you into a race of Eminem fans. Being a Doctor puts in a race of Doctors. The possibilities are endless. So when you stereotype someone because of that element, you are being racist.

Secondly, being offended by something is pointless. People are offended because they believe they are being insulted. Why be insulted? The person insulting you has no physical or emotional relationship or bonds with you, so why the fuck do you care what they think? The person probably didn't even direct the insult at you directly, and may have not meant any offence by it. And even if they did, why the fuck do you care what they think when the person means absolutely fuck all to you?

Its time the human race got over this shit, we are intelligent enough now to do so. Racism won't end by being nice to each other, it will only end when no one is bothered by it.

I'm not saying you have to find it funny, but get over yourself. We all do it.

I understand that this is a board, and we all want active members, but if some people cant say what they want to say, then it just might repel them away from here.

Granted, I also understand that some people take into offense, but is that not why some boards have an ignore button?

But....some people need to relax and realize that this forum is to have fun, and maybe we can either laugh, or accept our main posters post.

I made a thread about reputation power formula or something. and Cooper put a picture of a math formula, that shit was hilarious, granted it was nothing racist, but the point i am trying to make is that some people get bitter and butt-hurt about things that other people do, or have.

Yes, some here had a better child hood than others.

I know what you mean. I feel like people tend to report other members a little too much. I've never reported anyone as I recall and plenty of people have pissed me off. I think it's important to understand that although this board has thousands of members, it is really only a select handful of people who post on here and regularly keep this board alive with our discussions.

Of course, I don't mean to imply that we should abolish all banning because it's important to have rules. But maybe people could just chill a bit. If this is the message in your thread, Preach, I agree.

First of all, why was Da_Funk banned? There used to be this thread where super mods and admins posted every time they banned someone. That was back in the day. I'd love to see that resurrected. A link to the offensive post, with a reason for the ban. So everyone could stay on top of things. I guess I'm curious. I would love to know why, when core members disappear.

Again, nothing personal towards carmi, but why? Why is 2 girls 1 cup, 1 guy 1 cup, and 1 guy 1 dead cow head, goatse, inside out assholes and pictures making fun of black people all okay? I don't have to explain what dilla wanted to say, but I will. He didn't say "Duke, you're a jew of heritage, I hate jews, and the holocaust was good". He could have said "I wish someone murdered you in the street" and his message would have the same effect.

I don't know how to put it all into words, but something's changing on the boards, and I'm not liking it. It's as if we're all trying to be.. pseudo-adults. It's gay as fuck to me. Da_Funk was banned for racist jokes and use of the word n.i.g.g.e.r in an offensive tone.

We tolerate a lot here, but one thing we do not tolerate is racism. That word has also now been censored, which is why I had to put dots between the letters or else it would turn into ******.

I do not feel a thread stating why someone has been banned is necessary for two reasons.

1) Whenever we ban someone, it is for a specific break of the rules and if you are familiar with those rules you can narrow it down as to why they are gone. We let a lot slide here, even attacks against the site or the admins as long as they are within the rules and I feel every banning is justified and deserved and do not feel our staff needs to explain themselves.

2) By providing a record of the bannings, it tarnishes the user's reputation and hinders any efforts to get past it and become a good poster again. If I made a thread and said Da_Funk was banned for racial slurs, no matter how much he tries in the future to get past that, he will always be known as the one that made n-bomb jokes.


Anyway, FYI, Da_Funk was banned for a week and is welcome to come back after that. But if he continues with the racial and vulgar jokes he will be banned again.

Because flipmo and hizzle have their own style. They post disgusting, shocking images that the board appreciates. They don't use racism quite like funk, me and I guess Duke do.

There are differences between racist jokes and racist insults. There are some things you can say and some you shouldn't. It's one thing using a stereotype that is funny and another using a genocide to make an attempt at insulting someone.

Is that really funny? I remember back in the days members like dilla would be banned PERMANENTLY. This kind of bullshit was not tolerated. Now I understand we are few members left now it's a matter of survival and we keep some shitty members because at the end of the day we need some activity on the board, but there is a reason why dilla was banned multiple time and that the username dilla is not his first one.

Now carmi on the other hand, has wanted me gone for a looooong time. I may annoy her, anger her, whatever. I do not care.
