Pissed Off At Restaurant

I just got back from dinner at a local restaurant with one of my friends.

We ordered food and when it came time for dessert, the waitress asked if we would like any ice cream. I said no and so did my friend. But then she told my friend that his meal came with a free sundae, so he said he'd take it.

When the waitress returned, she said, "Oh and I brought two spoons in case you guys wanted to share." Then she walked away.

I sat there with a very confused expression on my face and my friend's looking at me like, what the fuck?

So I've been thinking this over for the last half hour or so, trying to figure out if there's any possible way she didn't mean anything by her statement but it seems as though she was definitely calling us gay.

I mean, even if we were acting gay, wearing pink shirts, ordering lemonade and talking with our hands, sharing a drink, it would still be very rude for someone to say such a thing.

But how else can we take this? I mean, friends go out eat all the time, interviews, business associates. I just don't understand.

What do you make of this?

And I'm not interested in what Aron or Little Skittle has to say unless it's something actually meaningful.

people will judge you no matter what you do. the only thing you can do is do what you are doing. if i was in ur situation i would be pissed off and then i'd slowly let go afterwards. you just have to make yourself understand that everyone is different, they all have different ways of thinking, they use different logic, they won't have the same opinions on the same things as you cuz it's all based on their experiences and what they think....and maybe she wasn't trying to intentionally piss u off and maybe she even thinks she was doing something nice....

ppl will always do what they want, so you have to make sure you do the same. wear that pink shirt and flaunt it if that's what u like :thumb:

but yeah...i'd be pissed off too lol...wtf is that

you are probably looking too much into this. seems like she was just being nice, maybe thinking it might get her more of a tip.

on the other hand, why would you think this action made you appear to be gay? do you think you are gay? do you walk around wondering if you are doing things that make you look gay to others?

you get upset over this? i have 2 best friends, one male and one female, and we all like going out to eat. sometimes i go with the guy or sometimes the girl but either way people will assume something of those situations. i find it funny.

What stopped you jumping in there straight away saying to her 'I don't need a spoon, you can have this back'. That is what I would have done.

on the other hand, she could just be a person very open to anything. doesn't want to offend you if you're gay, doesn't want to offend you if you're not, so she just politely put it out there that maybe you wanna share it. because you're gay, because you're close friends, whatever. i wouldn't mind sharing an ice cream with a friend if the situation arose. or to put it differently, i've had friends taste a piece of my ice cream before up to several times. i guess i'd take it the wrong way too, but i'd just laugh at it probably.

so long as most women don't mistake you for being gay i wouldn't worry about it too much.

1 icecream, 2 people.

1 or 2 spoons? I'm guessing she thought 2 would be best... just in case.

Why would you be pissed off if she thought you were gay though?

I think she didn't mean it or at least didn't think about it that way at that time. For example when you order a pizza they usually give you 2 plates if you're with a friend. Maybe that's where she saw an analogy.

She didn't mean shit about it, you paranoid freak. She was just being kind in case you wanted some.

I take food out of my buddies plates all the time to taste. No big shit.

She should have offered to get you a separate dish, but you could have asked her for one too.

you thought right Euph.. in todays society people think that two male friends sit in a restaurant together the first thing that pops in their mind are these guys gay???

have you ever been in that restaurant before with your male friend?? when two guys go eat there a lot. your gonna have speculation that they think your a homo. have you ever been there with girlfriends (ex girlfriends). if they've seen you with females eating dinner numerous times. then maybe yeah you over reacted.

next time you and your guy friend go in there, just start flirting with the hot waitress, then the staff wont have those thoughts.

Quit being a hater.

And quit being homophobic, faggot.
Hey, you shut the fuck up, you fag.

Close your mouth, because I can smell the stench of your cock breath through my Comcastic internet connection.

She brought the guy an extra spoon. Big fucking deal!!! It's called service.

Let's just assume for a second that she actually thought you liked a fat cock in your bum hole - so what? It ain't going to make your penis smaller big man.

and yes, those jeans do make your butt look bigger.

See the bold. That is the whole point. Why go the homo route, it's retarded, emotional hypochondria.

What's with all the other shit. I think you misunderstood me, or don't understand what a homophobe is. I want to talk about how your little whatever make no sense but you'll probably use caps or something next time, calm yourself.

haha you should have laughed it off. it's funny man, not a cause for insult or concern. it's happened to me heaps but i just laugh with the waitress about it and she ends up gettting embarrassed that her actions can be perceived like that.

trust me, at the end of the day, a female waitress is the LAST person who would go out of their way to make a comment about your gayness.
