Tim Burton's Batman was better than Batman Begins, but I think The Dark Knight will take the cake.

very true.
Burtons style and vision for batman was fantastic,.

but i do hope Dark Kinight will hit expectations and hype. nobody is going to watch it for Batman now, everyone is up for the NEW JOKER,.

IMO bale is prob the best person tohave played batman

Watching this batman compilation I cant help but notice how Bale is very Val Kilmer-ish with his performance. I think Val could have done an awesome job if the script and production was as good as Begins and not on some kiddy shit.

Still, Michael Keaton's Batman was amazing. Bale is a great actor, but he's just playing it like the others before him but more serious.

See the difference when someone makes the role their own? Look at Ledger's Joker, it is nothing like Nicholson's was and he will probably win an Oscar for it. He has made it his own. Bale's done a great job, but he is just playing Batman. I dont know, it is hard to explain. Dont get me wrong I love Begins and already have Gold Class tickets to see Dark Knight when it opens and was the first person in my city to get them, but I have the upmost respect for Tim Burton's Batman and Keaton's performance.

In that same regard I have the upmost respect for Nolan because he did make the film his own. I am convinced that without Nolan Begins would have sucked even if Bale played the lead role, but take Nolan and add an equally good actor of Bale's caliber and Batman Begins would have still been dope.

Edward Norton could have played Bat's in Begins and the movie still would have turned out the same and dope.

I dont think the same can be said for Heath Ledger's performance with The Joker because no one else could play the role the same way Heath plays it but Bale and Batman are interchangable if you ask me.

But this is a pointless rant anyway because Bale, Nolan, The Dark Knight, and Heath Ledger will kick all kinds off ass next month.

Rukas almost lost me with that post.

Val Kilmer was like a manequin in Batman Forever, he just didn't do it for me, Bale was great casting because they didn't go for a big name, similar to what Burton did. They went for the right actor.

All of the casting, except for Katie Holmes has been terrific, she was the only thing that irked me about Begins, the first half of the film is amazing. I think Bale is going to establish the role is this film, I'm not getting fooled with the Joker hype. I think Ledger may steal the scenes he's in and will probably be a revelation, but the title is "The Dark Knight" that means something is going to happen to Bruce Wayne/Batman that will change him. No one has really blown me away in playing Batman, yet. when I think of Batman no actor really sticks out, hopefully Bale can change that in TDK.

While I have this deep love for Burton's Batman, it took me until I was older to realize he really fucked up on that movie, even though it's very well made. Alfred letting Vicki Vale into the Batcave, wtf???? Having the Joker kill Bruce Wayne's parents and The Joker having more scenes than Batman, come on. Also here's how Ledger will make or break his role for me. If he makes a joke, HE has to be the only one who laughs at it. That's the Joker, the Joker should be the only one laughing at his own jokes, not the audience or anyone else, only him.

And I can't wait till Ledger gets nominated for an Oscar, that will shut Nicholson's face up, about not getting the respect and class from the director and Ledger about playing "his" role... please.

I just wish I could see this on IMAX

no love for George Clooney?

:p

I prefer Keaton as Batman. his voice and manner was spot on dark.

When Bale was batman i felt it was Forced esp. with the Voice and like Rukas pointed out clearly, he was acting like the batmans we seen before it wasnt his own batman. i am a big big fan of bale, so there is no hate. but Keatons version of batman was my personal favourite.

But when Bale was Bruce Wayne he was better then Keaton, he acted like the billionare playboy and also mysterious at the same time.

Yeah totally. But I think Clooney had that natural Clooney cockiness playboy thing going as well, but hey, thats Clooney for ya, and I by no means think any of his Batmans were good lol.

Sidenote: What the fuck happened to Keaton's career?
