"This 60-episode series will work to answer many important questions and unknown areas in the fields of space, biology, geology, medicine, physics, technology, nature, archaeology, history and the human mind. Over the course of five years, it will answer one question each month in its hour long episodes."

It seems interesting. The first episode is about the creation of the universe explored from scientific and religious perspectives. OH MAN.

What? It's a pop science program, like Universe, for the scientifically challenged masses. It's mostly visual entertainment (like Jersey Shore, lol). It's not going to answer any questions. It's not doing any cutting-edge research.

The first episode was boring and shallow for me, and I can't stand looking at Hawking anymore. At the end he said god doesn't exist because no time at the beginning. Wow, what a deep original thought. I think I had that one when I was five. I could tear the argument apart when I was six. Glad that important question was answered.

I just watched the first episode as well. "Meh" is all I have to say. Wasn't impressed. Apparently, the next episode is about alien life, and for some reason, Michelle Rodriguez is hosting that one?

Lord knows how that's going to turn out.

The episode I downloaded last night didn't have a .part8 so I guess I won't be trying to find another download.

It is very basic. I watch it with my son. It's advanced for him. We talk about it and he learns. I will continue watching and doing that.

But I completely agree.

Yeah, I watched it. It was meh as well. I also hate the idea that we automatically assume an alien life-form would be threatening from the get-go, it's just human projection as we've done the same for new encounters (Africa, North-America, etc) ... Overall, I didn't see anything I haven't already thought about or seen in some way or form through books, other documentaries and even movies.

At least Michelle Rodriguez is cute.

Next episode is: "Why is sex fun?" ... this should be entertaining. lol

I believe that we will be the superior alien being that destroys another peaceful races civilisation. Much like the white man and any country they "discovered".

Man, get off your high horse. Of course this show is boring to you, you're a smart adult.

These types of shows act as great catalysts for kids and teenagers who would otherwise think science is boring. And what is wrong with it being a pop science show?? Not everyone in society can be a scientist. It requires a different mindset than the average person has; and it is hard, hard work. That doesn't mean they have no interest in knowing more about the world around them.

^ I was merely commenting on the promotional quote I quoted (did u miss that?), not on whether anyone should watch it or will get anything out of it. That's why I called it a pop science program, because it will be popular.

Really? You seemed to be chirping it pretty hard. /shrug I haven't seen it so I can't really comment as to how good it is.

As to the ad, how else would they promote it? If they said: "This program will make blanket statements regarding our current understanding of science and then proceed to answer infinitely complex questions with generalized statements" no one would watch. Have you not seen mad men my friend?

I didn't watch last Sunday's episode, but this Sunday it talks about how the world will end... and the host is Samuel L Jackson. So, I hope to see a few "mother fuckers" in there.

"Get this mother fucking asteroid, off my mother fucking planet"

- Samuel Jackson
