Not to be a hipster pseudo-vegan like the new cool thing to do is, but I tried some of it last month from Whole Foods and loved it.

Daiya Vegan Cheese, Dairy Free Cheese alternatives, cholesterol free, non dairy cheese, allergy free cheese, gluten free, healthy option

I had the mozzarella shredded cheese, but not the cheddar. Wonder how that is.

But yes, when I was home for break I ate healthy every single day. Salads, no fast food, etc.

Regardless, almond milk is also pretty good. All milk (save for chocolate) tastes like shit, but vanilla almond milk was actually pretty good.

Well, those of you with whom I'm friends with on Facebook saw my multiple check ins to Whole Foods back at home. Some were surprised and actually called me minutes after I posted it to see if I was lost or something. Haha. Good store. That's the only place I know to get Daiya cheese in the States. Some sort of health store. Surprisingly, there's one right by my school in this college town. Wasn't expecting that.

This stuff saves my life as a vegan. It's just so fucking good and works in every situation where you would use cheese, unlike other vegan cheese brands that just turn into water when you try and melt them. When I first got a hold of it, it wasn't even a retail product yet. You had to buy massive blocks of it direct from the manufacturer. Now I'm happy that more and more stores are carrying the retail bags of it shredded.

They are bringing out a Pepperjack flavor in March :)

Nice to see that you're trying to eat healthier. Hope you keep it up.

btw, Tofurkey do three kinds of pre-packaged vegan pizzas using Daiya. They are awesome, so be sure to try one out if you see them. Whole Foods should have them.

Masta, no way in hell you'll find any in Poland lol. You can't even get it here in England. I bring like 5 bags back from the US every time I visit. I actually saw on a vegan forum that I visit, a group of people in England trying to figure out how they could import a load of it. I considered offering to sell them a few bags at an inflated price lol. But i'm selfish, I'd just eat it all myself.

Yeah, it's good stuff. It melts REALLY well. I've made vegan pizza at home with it.. and it melted perfectly. The only thing to watch out for with it is that it gets really oily when warmed up, other than that.. Daiya = <3

And Chocolate Almond milk is sooooo good. I've gotten tons of "anti-non-dairy" fans to try it and they've all been impressed. Ooh, try So Good ice-cream.. made with coconut milk.. it's heaven. :D

Will you be in Chicago in the summer? If so, check out Chicago Diner in Lakeview.. it's amazing.

Some Whole Foods locations have amazing salad bars. Like you just grab a box of various sizes and fill it up however you want, but they have like, 5x more options than your average salad bar.

When I was on tour in Vancouver with the band, our hotel was right by a Whole Foods and we went there literally every morning for breakfast.

I'll be in Chicago for Spring Break, unless I end up going to Destin with some buds. Place looks good, but, again, I'm not vegan (or a hipster) so that restaurant might be a bit too much for me. My dad is a vegetarian so he might like it, but it's 45 mins. from my place.

And I put daiya in my omelet (I know) and it wasn't that great, but it was amazing on salad. And out the bag. :)

The restaurant isn't vegan.. it's vegetarian with vegan options :D It's not a hipster spot at all, Lakeview isn't really hipster.. more sporty. Plus there's take-out.. and yeah.. that's really far from you. But it's a nice spot to stop if you're in the city. Tons of clubs/bars/comedy clubs over there too. Lakeview is a great neighborhood. LOL
