I'm interested in seeing what others will think of this.
Basically I hate working with the lady I work with. She's a 56 year old woman. She's 56 and not exactly the BEST person for her particular job. Especially not the physical aspects.
* She's slow and takes more than double the time to do shit I could do in no time. And i'm not just talking physical work.
* She is extremely inconsistent and fucks up a lot on a daily basis. One of her jobs is "checking in" stuff that we receive via trucks to our location. She's horrible at it. She doesn't look at the paper to make sure what's there matches. So there's times where we get stuff we shouldn't and times we don't get stuff we should.
* She doesn't catch on to things after doing them time and time again. I've literally showed her how to do some things 10+ times. Something as simple as last name first, first name last. It's been over 2 and a half years and she still does it wrong, lol.
* She talks on her phone a lot while working. We're not supposed to talk on our phones while we work and I could care less.. but it's the fact that she does it more than she needs to.
* She's a fucking gossip queen. I have to hear stories about what she does all the fucking time. And not only do I have to hear her tell me.. I have to hear her tell EVERYBODY ELSE too! It's annoying and repetitive.
* She doesn't cover for me like she should. I don't care if she doesn't do it all the time, but she hardly does it at all. I come back from lunch or a break and there's stacks of shit for me to go through. This is one of the things I care not so much about though.
* I have more responsibilities than she does and although I CAN handle them without her help.. it gets overwhelming at times and it annoys me that she doesn't work fast enough to help me like she should. We basically have our own stuff we do and we meet in the middle when it comes to this one other thing. Yeah.. that one other thing is done 95% of the time by me.
I literally pull up to work every morning and see her car and think to myself "here we go again". The reason I don't mention how I feel to her is because she's not the type of person that admits she's wrong. She doesn't take responsibility for shit. If I tell her how I feel, she'd probably get real defensive and it would be awkward from then on seeing her 8 hours a day. I think the fact that I have to pretend nothing's wrong bugs me more than working with a fuck up. Know what I mean? Cause i'm the type of person to speak my mind. But she's the type of person that's not worth the time.
My boss is aware of the fact that she's a fuck up, but rather than firing her.. he'd rather let it play out on its own. He figures if she messes up enough and the manager of the place catches on to enough shit, she'll be gone. That's fine and all, but it's like she has 9 lives. I can only take this shit for a little while longer before I blow up and tell her what's what. I'm not stupid enough to do it in an asshole way and lose my job, but i'll say what I need to say regardless. Every time I say "fuck it, i'll forget it and just work".. she does something else to trigger it off again, lol.
What would YOU do in this situation? The person is actually making your job harder and your boss is aware of it, but he'd rather let it play out on its own instead of letting her go himself. You speak to him about the way you feel and he insists it'll happen eventually. But you don't know how much longer you can deal with the shit.
I don't blame you if you don't want to read all that btw.
