I think people have a problem with this song cause they were surprised that he did such a different song then what we are used to. But you guys dont notice one of the biggest things which Pac had, and probably the most important. DIVERSITY. Show me a rapper who has so much diversity in what they speak about and how they speak it. Ive heard Nas trying to talk about different thing ("I personally think he is activily copying pac: but thats another post for another thread"), but u hear the flow is still the same, Pac could switch and change when ever he wanted, and that is why the track was at the end of the album, Pac new it wasnt his best cause it was too different, but i guess he was just showing the creative diversity in his art.

as a song, becasue it is so different, the song needs to grow on you,,,,,i hardly listened to it at first, but it grew on me finally,,,so if u hate the song, skip it, but once in a while just listen to it,, i assure u that u will never really love it,,but im sure u will end up liking it..

The song is hot. This forum just has followers. If 3 people hate that song, then another 40 people will say it sucks. It's a trend. If that song was to switch places with all about u in tracklisting people wouldn't complain. If pac had that song as a single people wouldn't even complain. If he chose that as a single over all about u, or i ain't mad atcha everyone would hate those songs to. If you were to hear that song with bass at a club or party environment, I'd go nut.

You make a lot of judgments here. Why do you assume people only like a song if it's a single? It wouldn't make a difference to me whether it was a single or not, I still wouldn't like that beat. And if I Ain't Mad At Cha wasn't a single, I'd still love it to death. Some people like songs because they are good, not because it's a single

i think "what'z ya phone #" might be one of those songs that separates old-school 2pac fans from new-school fans... the prince sample is amazing and 2pac's flow is nice... if he had one or two more verses this song would be a classic. whenever i burn this song to a cd, i just edit out the phone call and have a nice and short 2 minute song...

but that's just my opinion

Yeah, I think I've done that with all of the outlawz songs with pac........(edit out the outlaws and just have the pac verses)............notice how the outlawz put 2pac's verses at the beginnin' and the end of almost all the songs they have with him........they know that if 2pac's at the end most ppl are gonna sit through the song to hear what pac has to say last which means they have to listed to what they say in between........(not hatin' on them, just I used to be able to listed to it all the way through and everytime I listen they don't sound like they should be rappin' on Pac's level) so I just edited them out of most of the songs and if you do that u can fit UTEOT and BD songs on 2 discs....instead of 4.....cuttin' out the outlawz saves a lot of time on a cd.....

I pressume that that particular song is hated on on account of Tupac actually talking about playing with himself on record. Not a lot of people, especially male, aren't gonna want to listen to that type of thing, so they hate on it.

It's like listening to 50 Cent saying 'I wanna unbutton your pants just a little bit' over and over. After a while it's gonna sound gay.

Because that is how people are. Once the radio and TV's gets hold of a song that might not be all that great, people will tend to start memorizing and then singing along with a song over and over. In my opinion "I ain't mad atcha" isn't even all that great of a song, but because I like the video I like the song. If it wasn't for the video I wouldn't be feeling it that much because that's the only song I skip on aeom cd1.
