Why don't they respect Tupac's original music?

There's no way I'm buying this album. I think the music is poor quality, but I buy lots of other albums with 2Pac verses on them regardless of their quality, so that's not the reason. The reason I'm not buying it is because I'm sick of seeing all the work he did being wasted. There's many good reasons for not releasing everything completely OG. But it's at the point now where virtually nothing is left anywhere even remotely close to how he originally recorded it except (to some extent) his vocals and there's no excuse for that other than that the people releasing it either don't think they will get enough money or they don't have respect for the work he did.

Every part of his songs involved his input to some extent. Even if he didn't produce the music for a song, he obviously still had a lot of input into what type of production he wanted for the song, chose which beat he wanted to use and fit his lyrics to it. Also, the other artists on the songs would have at least received guidance about what type of song he wanted to create if not being given specific lyrics to use. There's lots of ways he was involved in the song beyond just rapping, but the point is every part of the song is part of his music and to see it being wasted after how hard he worked and how important his messages were really bothers me.

I'm not sure why Amaru's chosen to release his music like this. The argument that sales will be bad doesn't work because R U Still Down? sold fine. Now they aren't even giving his original music a chance to sell. There's no reason to make his music more modern, the released music he originally recorded is still popular today. But none of the arguments in favour of remixing justifies them completely changing everything. Why not at least keep the style of the song similar, or use parts of the original production? I'm sure some beats and samples would be a hastle to get permission to use, but not every single one. Now that they are even mixing his verses from different songs and altering his lyrics, it makes it clear that they don't even respect the words he recorded.

He knew he was facing jail or death and he worked very hard to make a lot of good music because it was obviously very important to him. So I hate to watch it being wasted like this when there is so much potential. People who don't know a lot about him probably think that these are just left-over vocals and don't realize he actually finished (or nearly finished) all these songs and albums (e.g., One Nation). Either way people should be given a chance to hear his music as it was originally made. Until I see something released that's true to his art, I'll stick to spending my money on old singles and guest appearance albums.

I feel you, homie, trust me I feel ya.But really, the reason I buy all his albums regardless is I have to support his legacy even if the people in charge aren't completely respcting it themselves.I hope some day pretty much all the og's will be released in completely og form or with less drastic changes.Until then though, we still have a few worthy tracks on this album like "Soon As I Get Home" "Dumpin" and "Don't Stop" I wish it was better, but at the same time I'm glad we're at least getting something.

That's cool. But for me, I don't think I'm supporting his legacy, because to me his legacy means two things, the quality of his music, i.e. how people regard him as an artist and what kind of effect his music has on others.

This album is hurting his image because it's simply not that good. But even though that's a lot of people's opinion, other people will still like it. The worse part is that so much of his original work is being wasted that people won't realize what kind of musical talent he actually had. As for his message, his verses are being altered and parts changed or removed so the things he wanted to say are obviously not getting out there the way he intended. The same goes for removing the guests and remixing, even if to a lesser degree, because it's still all part of his music and his messages.

I'm fine with supporting his legacy, but from my perspective albums like these have a negative impact on his legacy. I feel like I'm hurting his legacy by buying them. To me this is worse than getting nothing.

pacs legacy will always be there they would always be able to sell pac without havin to do whatever they think they have to do with each new cd.

all tupac is now is a brand name, its not about him no more. & the money does not go to him
if anythin one of the reasons some one might wana buy the shit would be to Support the TASF, somewhat. but if somebody wanted to do that they could donate personaly, all these people want is maybe help the TASF but at the same time they r greedy for new shit thats all they care about. that they have some new shit or some different shit to ad to their collection.

if the shits no good i will not buy it Pac shit Originally is the best shit to me, so changin it years and years after hes dead definitely wont get me to buy it.

Tupac Shakur doesnt need Pity from his fans. so that he can 'sell good' 'legacy stays alive'. the fuckLegacy are u talkin about so shit can get remixed and remixed with Lil scrappy, young bucks, get produced by Swizz beatz and Sha Money Xl? Hes a brand. if you wana see Pacs legacy do somethin for others inspired by Pac the real Pac.

the way pacs music is pumped by some folks nowadays its like people are more quik to buy 2, 3 or 4 copies of this trash than when he was alive with his real records

the thing is I am going to buy his album regardless, I buy all 2pac albums, all 2pac dvds, I even try to get as many 2pac mixtapes as possible,it is to make sure I have all his albums for my collection and just for my own peace of mind knowing that I have all of 2pac's music and I'm not just bootlegging it, 2pac is the only cd that I will not burn for my friends, i will burn a mix of his songs and other artists for my friends and I'll letthem burrow AEOM or whatever itis I just won't burn it, just because I don't agree with the people in control of his music are doing, its not gonna stop me from coppin' it, just like me not coppin' it is not gonna stop them from releasin' it

I agree with you 100% dog. I think at this point all we can do is hope that one day somebody like dante or maybe even just a tupac fan with money will be able to gather all the orignals and release the best of them with perfect sound quality to the streets..
