Why do people say biggie and pac is the greatest?

If you could just look past the Pac & Biggie beef, you will truly see the talent Biggie had. He had an amazing flow and delivery. Im not a B.I.G listener, I tend to flick through his albums rarely when I have people chill at my house and they make a request for a Biggie tune.

Nobody could deliver a line like Biggie could - his voice, flow and pace were just right. I mean come on dude's, Pac wasnt targetting a 2 dollar rapper. He knew Biggie was good and he knew he had to be 10 times better to beat him in the album stakes -

I got my three-five-seven can't control it
Screamin die motherfucker and he's loaded
Everybody run for cover, I cause shit
Thug Life motherfucker, duck quick
Now am I wrong if I am don't worry me
Cause do or die gettin high til the bury me
Dear Lord if ya hear me, tell me why
Little girl like LaTasha, had to die
She never got to see the bullet, just heard the shot
Her little body couldn't take it, it shook and dropped
And when I saw it on the news I see busta girl killin 'Tasha
Now I'm screamin fuck the world, in the end
it's my friends, that flip-flop
Lip-locked on my dick when my shit drop
Thug Life motherfucker I lick shots
Every nigga on my block dropped two cops
Dear Lord can ya hear me, when I die
Let a nigga be strapped, fucked up, and high
with my hands on the trugger, Thug nigga
Stressin like a motherfuckin drug dealer
And even in the darkest nights, I'm a Thug for Life
I got the heart to fight now
Mama raised a hellraiser why cry
That's just life in the ghetto, do or die

^^this ability to describe ghetto narratives is why Pac is the best.
well put

I'm not saying people like him just because he's dead. I'm saying, when a rapper dies, there is some kind of an aura that surrounds that person, especially Tupac, because he rapped about death and dying. I think people are pulled in by the death in different ways. I honestly believe that Tupac is a bigger legend today because he died when he died.

Also, how many of the sales for AEOM came after his death? eh?
I personally think he would have got bigger, if he was alive today. But no one knows that.

As for how many records he sold of AEOM after he died. Well before he died, he had something like 6 million sold, which back then, was very good sales, as rap wasn't that big accross all countries like rap is now.

So yeh, I personally think he would have grown as time went on, and reached accross other countries, and would have got bigger(he was only 25 you know). But like i've said. No one knows that for sure. It's just what I think would have happened.

Biggie I thought is overrated because u can't put out 2 albums and be considered the best but he does make good music & I agree Pac being dead don't mean people like you afterwards it says that you don't know what you got until it's gone which alot rappers say that rebel or the one who got the guts to say anything
Yip. I agree to alot of what you just said. :thumb:

People say they are the greatest cos they both died at the peak of their careers and we never got to see them 'fall off', so they're always remembered as being at the top of the game.
The fairest & most logical point made :thumb:

k first off the shit pac still has comming out is some of his greatest and he wouldve never fallen off sorry to tell you just because the beats arent good doesent mean the lyrics arent look at bettter dayz if you ask me one of his best cds ever and your saying that tupac wouldve fallen off you dont even deserve to call yourself a tupac fan
The most retarded point here. You do know that Tupac no longer records......right?

The funniest thing about Think_ThUGLiFE quoting that particular part of Chino's lyrics is that with that Chino was toasting BDK & flowing exactly like BDK had classicly flowed the OG version of those lyrics back in the day.......everything about that quote is Hip Hop, yet he quotes it to diss Chino.

Chino XL is the benzino of 96. Dissing ppl to gain respect which lead to nothing but becoming a joke.
Yeah, because Benzino is known as a lyrical monster

He dissed Tupac to rep his side & get respect.....and?

Respect was one of the reasons Tupac dissed Biggie - the man said it himself.

biggie was a much better mc than pac tho .. biggie is amazing with the flow ..nuff said .... hes unbelievable mannn .... yes pac is greater all around but to say in terms of mc skills that pac was better is sooo laughable

I'm with Shock G's view on this subject (off Thug Angel interview).

Something like: 'Biggie could flow. He was a swinger, like a Jazz player. But what Pac had to say was the most potent.'

Damn, everybody here is saying B.I.G. is trash? Yall must not like rap, or you never heard this dude. B.I.G. has unbelievable flow, the sickest lyics ever from a rapper came from him. You could make a case for Big L and 2Pac, but I go with B.I.G. for lyrics, it just came to him in freestyles, sick.

2Pac has unbelievable passion for his music. He does have a lot of gangsta rap songs that's all about the West Side and his homiez. But a lot of his hits are emotional and true to himself, that what I love so much. 2Pac's beats were never that great, except for Ambitionz as a Ridah, but his lyrics make you feel this guy, and makes you wanna keep listening about his life. It obvious how much passion he had by the time he spent in the booth.

A lot of 2Pac fans say there no way his greatest albums are the albums that come out today. But Better Dayz was one of his greatest albums no doubt, but fans want to believe he can't be coming out with huge hits anymore.

Considering Tupac was bigger than Biggie in them days(due to his record sales). So I doubt Pac did it to gain more respect lol. But whatever you think lol :thumb:.

Pac dissed Biggie, because of a personal thing. Thats like saying 50 Cent dissed Ja Rule to gain more respect lol. But no :thumb:

I think all this is bs tho, someone is lying to make him look good or to keep him on the same with pac. Because from my eyes, biggie is in the back of the line.
No one is lying, because it is all opinion. I might think that Britney is better than Bone Thugz or B2K better than Eazy-E...I wouldn't be lying; that's just my opinion.

Now that that's covered, I agree, obviously, that Pac is enormusly better than Biggie, overall. Big was better at freestylin than Pac and he could just spit bar after bar and have eveything flow perfectly; Pac was still better than some, but he needed some time to write and get his thoughts in order...It's kind of funny cuz you might think, from how fucking fast Pac wrote his shit, he would be the best freestyler ever. As someone else said, Pac had the most emotion of anyone in his songs, that was one of his trademarks...Big felt the music in a different way and emphasized words or rhymes in his own flawless way (pt. in case- JAM SESSION). love that about him. They are both easily legends. I'd place B.I.G. within Top 5.

Its funny how cats say Biggie can freestyle better than Pac when Pac never got on mixtapes or radio stations to freestyle and so forth. If Big & Pac were to battle each other, Biggie could probably win but it wouldn't necessarily mean that Pac would loose. The main reason Pac doesn't have too many similes and metaphors is because he was writing songs way too quick. If he was to take his sweet time like Biggie, I'm sure we could get some well written patient songs like Brendas Got A Baby or something, but his songs probably wouldn't be in such a huge capacity like it is now. Even 50 cents said the same thing: He said you can come up with lines like "A FAT KID LOVE CAKE" if the time and patience is there. If Pac had patience like BIG who knows.

DO YOU EVEN LISTEN TO PAC? 2PAC's BEATS WERE NEVER THAT GREAT- YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. I GUESS YOU NEVER HEARD THE THUG LIFE ALBUM, BOMB FIRST, BLASPHEMY, ME & MY GIRLFRIEND, AGAINST ALL ODDZ, FORTUNE & FAME, PAIN, STARIN AT THE WORLD THROUGH MY REARVIEW, TRADIN WAR STORIES, BRING DA PAIN, GOT MY MIND MADE UP, SHORTY WANNA BE A THUG, TROUBLESOME, HITEMUP, TATOO TEARS(ANY VERSION), THUG STYLE, WHEN I GET FREE II, ETC. I COULD GO ON AND ON!!

YOU BETTER CHECK YOURSELF BEFORE YOU SAY PAC DIDN'T HAVE THAT MANY GOOD BEATS. IN FACT, I BELIEVE THAT PAC HAD THE BEST BEATS IN THE RAP GAME. ALSO, IN ADDITION I BELIEVE HE MADE THE BEST MUSIC IN THE RAP GAME WHICH MAKE HIM MY FAVORITE MC!!

COMPLETELY agreed...as I listen to "Military Minded" OG followed by M.O.B. (does anybody else fuckin love this track?) I can't get enough of the beat and all of the features tear it up too: Fatal, Mopreme, Syke & Kadafi. obviously so does Pac.

I seriously hope you're joking.....AEOM and 7 Day Theory were both production masterpieces from start to finish.
