Who has an Interpretation for Pac’s poem ‚Nightmare’ ?

I pour my heart in2 this poem
and look 4 the meaning of Life
the rich and powerful always prevail
and the less fortunate strive through strife
MISTAKES R MADE be 4given
we R 2 young 2 stress and suffer
The path of purity and positivety
has always ridden rougher
Your insatiable desire 2 find perfection
Has made your faults magnify
curiosity can take Blame
For the evil that makes u cry
It isn't a good feeling when u disobey your Heart
The nightmares haunt your Soul and your nerves R
ripped apart

I think this poem is very deep. If I got it right, it is about how curiosity can be fatal. What do ya think ? What have you been able to find out about this poem’s meaning ?

And about the poem ‘untitled’ which begins with ‘Please wake me when I’m free’…does anyone have an interpretation for that, too ? That would be great.

PS: Im gonna present some of these poems at university in a few days, so I’m preparing right now, though as far as this poem, I need a lil help…;)

Thanks.. :thumb:

I think the poem is about young man that’s trying to find meaning of life, a man who wants to find perfection, but faces a lot of faults why doing it. In a search he has to disobey his heart to find some answers, and that haunts his sole by everyday nightmares.

You said the meaning is - Curiosity can be fatal, I’d better say - Understanding life can be fatal.

Pac wrote “curiosity can take blame”, - so definitely it’s not the main.

It’s about Young people in this word. And unanswered question – meaning of life.

Please wake me when I'm free
I cannot bear captivity
where my culture I'm told holds no significance
I'll wither and die in ignorance
But my inner eye can c a race
who reigned as kings in another place
the green of trees were rich and full
and every man spoke of beautiful
men and women together as equals
War was gone because all was peaceful
But now like a nightmare I wake 2 c
That I live like a prisoner of poverty
Please wake me when I'm free
I cannot bear captivity
4 I would rather be sticken blind
than 2 live without expression of mind

That’s how I see it:

A Black Man is sleeping and he has a good dream, beautiful peaceful world. Then he wakes and reality is nightmare, he is prisoner in the white man’s world, he was told that his culture is nothing, he captured in poverty.

So he doesn’t want see the reality so he continue dreaming, and asks to wake him when he will be free in other worlds when his dream will became reality.

He disobey his heart because he is trying to find answers; to find answers he should go in all kind of different unpleasent things, he has to see all the dirt his heart don't want to face, so he disobey his heart.

Your heart tells you stop here is the wonderful place, but you are looking on the other side of the street and you see dirt, you ask yourself why and investigating the question, you disobey your heart.

Actually you can disobey your heart in so many ways, even when you drank, you are bot listening to heart or to your brain, you staright on animal instincts.

PS please, fill in the word I missing in "Nightmares"
