When 2PACALYSPE, S4MN, THUG LIFE, and MATW are re-issued...

I am EXTREMELY excited that they are coming out! Violent, Under Pressure, Representin' 93, Fuck the world, these songs will finally sound amazing. Anyways, I wonder if the liner notes for MATW will be different than the current ones, given the amount of mistakes made. And, just on a side note, because of Stretch's vocals and production being used, does Maj (or Stretch's family) still get paid form Amaru? -Peter

Officially nothing has been said about this - anyways what you are going to get probably will be remaster versions of the albums but I can guarantee they will be edited to fuck!

Today Pac can't speak his mind without some motherfucker editing (yes you are one of those Johnny J)

True Dante knows his stuff, but he doesn't work 4 Amaru.

What I think will happen next year is that Pacs new album will be a 3disc set and maybe Live 2 Tell might drop around Novemebr with a Soundtrack with maybe a few rare Pac songs on.

We also can look forward to Assassins MAKAVELI & ASSASSIN EP (All og tracks produced by Assassin). Assassin has confirmed this on one of his forum posts on his site.

Also the rumour going about is that 2007 will see the release of Tupac Shakur's OG Project Voloume 1. I have being told from a realiable source that Amuru have plans 4 this but what they can't do is release a boxset with all of them because at the moment they are having problems with certain OG Producers about cost. Amaru have decided that they will be released as voloumes because not all OG'z will see the light of day.
But best belive, these OG'z r coming and I for one are glad because it will stop all the bootlegging and please Pacs loyal fans.

Dante, trust me, my source is very reliable. All I can say is that he still produces tracks for the estate.
if you say so...
simple fact is that the og's will never be released in any sort of box set as a lot of misinformed people tend to believe. i'd bet my soul on that.

Dante - one producer I have had conversation with has said the estate has already being in contact with them regarding the possibilty of them being used.

Like I said, I cannot confirm this - I am just going on what that producer told me.

Afeni has said in numeourous interviews is that she pays people even though they was taken off the track. Now this I belive is a good sales tatic because when she plans to release the OG's she has something positive to add to her about getting the right 4 the track.

sounds like you may be misaken. if you talked to a legit person (i am assuming you spoke over the net since you're in the uk) then there is the possibility of a they don't give a fuck about us type scenario where some songs are released as essentially og's. this does not denote that there will be a mass release of og's.

no offense, but this statement of yours demonstrates that you know very little about the workings of the music industry. afeni isn't being a good samaritan here lol... she HAS to pay people who originally created or collaborated on songs that are later remixed. it's called co-authorship, and yes artists and producers get points or a raw dollar figure even if they are removed from songs.

in fact, the reality is that things are quite the opposite from the idealistic picture you had painted. the truth is that people with unleaked materials are harrassed and threated by amaru reps (trust me here) and artists who have a recording of pac coughing have to pay exhorbitant amounts just to release it.

when it comes down to it, the og's will NEVER be released as a compilation. bridges have been burned, the songs are largely unfinished, and the lack of refinement wouldn't sell to anyone but us - the dedicated fans. if an box set of og's were to be released, it would largely be a tremendous flop.

Thanks for that Dante, like I said I am only going on what was told to me.

I still think they will be released. My vision of an og boxset, is not just the ogs crammed into a boxset, but video's, interviews, a book.
The interviews with the estate on websites, when asked the question, they havn't said no and they havn't said yes.

We will have to wait and see what happens.

i like to keep a little bit of hope that one day you'll watch tv shop and there's gonna be an 8-cd box set of unreleased original tupac recordings... in 40 years.

I think it would be a success and finally it will stop all the bootleg Tricks who make money off his work!

like i said, no one would buy it but the people who post here. that being said, a large portion of the members here don't even own retail copies of all the albums, so yeah, do the math.

everyone else who released a box set of unheard stuff was a huge success Ie;nirvana. but they went all out with 3 cd's a dvd and a 60 page book. but it was all demos unheard live stuff and etc. so im sure people would buy it. still doubt it will happen though.

If you can remember back to the 70s...jimi hendrix's post death albums were chopped up and had other people playing on them...then 30 years later the estate of Hendrix finally listened to the fans and released the Original recordings with all the info the fans wanted...sure they didn't sell as much as the albums that were chopped up in the 70s with other musicians on them, but they added sales to Hendrix...none of the Hendrix albums that were screwed up in the 70s were ever ported to cd, as if the estate wanted to forget about them...I see this happening with 2pac in a few decades when his buzz dies off...

I thought this thread is as good a place as any to say this:

mattnick = Kevsta2004

... And he doesnt know shit.

Dante is correct. The "OG Box Set" rumor has been around longer than the "Vaults Of The Dead" rumor.

I just love how people continue to be absolute fucking dicks when it comes to standing up for rumors they heard (read: saw typed in an IM window) in comparison to cold hard facts.

Maybe 20 years from now when people who are mad at Amaru get over being treated like shit and hand over their DATs, but this definitly wont happen for sometime.

The Hendrix thing is also alot different because his material didnt get bootlegged anywhere near the extent that Tupac's has.

Why would Amaru pay to press up a CD that has essentially been download for years online? Because it would have better quality? In that case look to the remaster album sales and you'll see that it's not really a profitable process. Im actually suprised they are remastering the albums, I guess its just a means to milk out the last dollars from those CDs.

See I thought that yesterday. But when I checked their posts side by side they are so different. Maybe it's some Jekyll and Hyde shit.

Yeah and I hate how people pass off rumour as fact. But apparently QDIII has been approached and confirmed it, lol. And he is a great producer too.
