what do y'all think..

If Pac had had better beats (like what for ex. Outlawz, Eminem..etc. been doing after his death) when he was alive, his music would've sounded even better. He's the best rapper but sum of his beats aren't just kickin it right. Don't get me wrong now cuz I love 2pac, that's why it would have been fair if he had had better beatz.

...But when I think about it, if he had worked more on the beatz, he wouldn't have had as much time to record his raps...And we wouldn't have that many 2pac songs 2day.

Shit, I dunno...Wish he was still here...

I completely disagree. The beats 2Pac had back while he was alive suited his lyrics and style. The beats you find on some 2Pac tracks today don't.

EDIT: probably change 'some' with 'most'

i think most of his original beats are dope, i do agree that some (very few) songs needed a little adjustment or just a straight out better beat 4 the most part though his shit is dope either way, and his message (lyrics) still gets accross which is what i listen 2 and judge on mostly whenever i hear any song...

how would you know about thugz mansion since you haven't heard the og? ...and they don't give a fuck about us is essentially the og so that sort of detracts from your point, no?

@ simo and yurdady1 - u hit the nail right on the head.

ur entitled to ur opinion and everything, flo2thend. but there seems to be this new generation of Pac fans who get brain washed by todays poppy, sparse, primitive beats and somehow start believing they define a dope beat. the shit is crazy. eminem and the inlawz beats and production for Pac (edi) are a perfect example. maybe it's true that there's subliminal messages in eminem and others' cartoon hip-pop creations. that would explain alot. why else would anyone give those beats a second listen? my opinion.

ur judging the standards of beats from at least 9 years ago, by beats these days. now u would think that shit would've evolved and todays beats would rival, or come close to them. but we've gone backwards (there are exceptions - kanye bein one). the trend has gone towards kinda minimalist beats. just cause something is new or the latest thing, doesn't mean it's more advanced than what came before. clean ur ears out, actually hear the tracks, not just listen to them and i think you might have a revelation:thumb:

Pac's beats are thoughtful and deep, even the more commercial stuff has some kinda nostalgic, reminiscing vibe to it.

 confusion over Eminem's beats accused of being good

go and listen to Me against the world, the beats on that album are perfect for all the songs. the new beats produced today dont suit 2pac's style imo. some new mixes that i have liked are my block, thugz mansion. but most of the new ones are garbage, especially UTEOT. i would give anything to have OG production on new 2pac albums, i would pay $75 per album. but everyone has a diff taste, and i guess alot of people today dont like old school beats.

No, I ain't judging. What I'm saying is that for ex. his early tracks would have sounded even better with some of today's hot beats. I guess I am a little superficial and all that shit but it was just a thought.

i still don't like ppl puttin beats on his early songs cuz that's just bullshit cuz he ain't there pickin the beats. If Pac could pick / make beats today, they prolly would be the shit w/ today's tecnology and shit.
