Non-Urban Music What are you listening to RIGHT NOW? (New Rules)

My favourite off that album is Jesus Don't Want me for a Sunbeam. I have nothing against the Foo Fighters but damn, Nirvana is just so much better.

I don't want to watch your video yet. I want to keep talking about Nirvana. Yeah, Sunbeam is great. The Vaselines were an UNBELIEVABLE band. I think the Lead Belly cover, "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?", is the best though. Kurt starts slow, but by the time he gets to the end, it's clear he's been saving his voice for it the whole show. Very emotional. And the three Meat Puppets covers? Oh man. So good.

The other day, I put on "Drain You" on my big phonograph/CD player (I'm serious, don't smack me bc I have a phonograph), and she started dancing around like crazy. She doesn't do that for everything she hears. Mainly just Elmo and Nirvana.

While "Where did you sleep last night" is amazing, I still stick to my original statement. Something about sunbeam still strikes a nerve in me, even after hearing it for the first time ~15 years ago. "Oh, me" would be my second favourite off that album and how good is the acoustic of "All Apologies".

Haven't heard. From their allmusic.com entry they sound like a band for 22-year-old whippersnappers like yourself. :)

I missed this thread. I loved the MTV Unplugged performance back in the day. I mean LOVED. MTV wanted Kurt to do more songs but he felt he couldn't top "Where did you sleep last night?" So he ended it there. He nailed it too.

So I used to listen to this band The Format all the time. A great little sunny 70s-style pop band. Then they broke up. I was upset, thinking I'd never hear from the songwriter again. Tonight I read that his new band has the number one song in the country. Things like this make me happy.
