Ooh, that does look interesting!!! I tend to just avoid most fast food and commercial restaurants currently. I also pack a lunch.. frequently. As well as snacks lol.

First, how often do you go grocery shopping? And second, how much do you spend? I'm assuming you do most of your shopping at Whole Foods and I think I read a Farmer's Market as well. There's a premium there, and I'm sure you eat much less than I do, but how vast is the price difference in the long run? Shoudn't be gambling on health and money isn't quite an issue, but it's hard to pay $5 for half a gallon of non-dairy milk, for example.

I'll be honest with you.. I hate grocery shopping more than anything in the world. >.< I go perhaps once a week, unless i'm planning a large-ish meal.. then I just buy what I need at that time.

Um.. I guess if i'm spending a lot or not will vary per person.. I can usually get food for the week for about $60 or so.. give or take. There are certain items i'll only buy at Whole Foods (fresh produce, vegan items). Then there are things i'll pick up at any random grocery store (packaged/boxed goods). Farmers Markets are only around when its warm and they're fairly cheap.. cheaper than the grocers actually. Plus, the good thing about say.. non-dairy milk is it lasts longer. So you spend a few more dollars for it BUT it doesn't expire in like two weeks. I bought Almond Milk at the beginning of Feb. and it's good through the middle of March. You don't waste it if you can't get to it right away. I also freeze my produce.. buy it when it's on sale and throw it in the freezer, lasts longer and doesn't change the quality of it.

Honestly, it takes a bit of advance research in the beginning.. but once that's out of the way.. it's fairly easy. I don't spend much more on groceries than I used to before. I've just switched out certain things for others. Also.. the more frequently you eat, the less you feel hungry and the smaller the amount of food your body will crave becomes. I know it sounds weird, but its true. I eat about 5-6 small meals a day.. sometimes I don't even eat meals.. but just have a green smoothie instead..

FYI Green Smoothies are a GREAT way to sneak veggies and fruit into your diet easily. Get any cheap blender for like $40. Then all you need is a bunch of leafy greens (Kale, Collard or Spinach) and some sweet fruit (mango, pineapple, apples, pear, papaya, etc). Mix 40% veggies to 60% fruit. It'll look gross (be green or purple) but taste just like fruit still. In most cases.. I make about 6 cups for one day and that's 3 servings of veggies and about 4 servings of fruit for the day :D
