haha i washed dishes for my school work experience program at this cafe near my house...it was a good experience but theres alot of pressure on a dishwasher when ur working in a restaraunt believe it or not
i wish that at 18 i would have still got pocket money. but my parents still do the dishes for me. actually.. i eat and go out. so they are stuck with it.
Im not gonna run a dishwasher for 2 plates a glass and a couple forks.
And Im not going to let stuff pile up enough to the point where I could actually fill the dishwasher. Plus at that point stacking it and unstacking is just too much work.
It's easier to just wash as you go. Let the 2 plates soak for a while in warm detergent filled water and then it cleans off really easy.
I find washing dishes to be a stress relief when the time is right.
Dishwashers are there to take care of big loads - after a holiday dinner with family guests for example. Like Ruk says, soak in hot soapy water for bit - everything will come right off with a sponge after that.
