Virus?

I cant get into chat rooms or play online games on my computer. what happens is, i'll click the link and soon all the screens disappear. Is this a virus? Ive scanned my comp with three different ad ware spy ware removers so what is the problem? someone mentioned a trojen virus..what is that?
