Wow, a virus never pissed me off so much.

I can't take it off my computer...I don't even have a clue of how I got it. :amazed:

Anyone with experience dealing with this will be helpful.

McAfee doesnt even freaking detect it.

a lot of other programs 'deleted' it and it keeps coming back. i tried googling it and it just sends me the run-around...i have closed like 20 pop-ups just typing this shit.

I have a Toshiba laptop running XP.

its impossible for an mp3 file to have executable data, the only media that has anything excutable is microsofts wma and wmv files that can execute http commands.

There is a possibility, the file would have to be named something like "example.mp3.exe". Windows is set to hide extension by default show it and would show as "example.mp3" in windows, however it would look odd that only that file shows the .mp3 and no others and only a complete noob would leave it on that setting as the key to being able to spot bogus files is looking at the file names.

Still, when you download that file from ANY source, it will show the ".exe" in the file name that is displayed. P2P, Torrents and HTTP downloads will all ways show you this.

i had this trojan, i got it from slumz of boxden or itsbx.com cant remember but anyway, its the worst shit ever

i forgot who it was, from m-f, he told me to download avguard and yea it fixed, i also had to manually delete some stuff

pain in the ass

I have Windows Live One Care Ultimate, not available for retail. Got it from the Microsoft Employee store for $20. Have to say this is the best anti-virus I've ever used, unlike others it doesn't annoy me, it just runs in the background. I never get pestered by pop ups telling me there is an update or that its updating, and virus scans are amazingly sleek, it doesn't slow down my computer while it doesn't. I've not read any reviews, but my step dad recommended it, I give it a thumbs up.

I wouldn't advise you to go buy the retail version though, Microsoft will stop supporting it by June this year as they will be releasing a free anti virus programme at that time.

no problem man, glad to help. u might have to delete some stuff from regkey thing

yea, my comp became slow as fuck and then it died on me (also the comp was from 2002)
