Vegetable Smoothies

I'm not a big fan of veggies. I probably don't get my recommended daily dose. I'm looking to change that. But let's face it, some vegetables taste like cardboard or utter shit. But it's easier to drink shit than eat it? I don't know, bad analogy? Point is, I figure if I can drink most hard liquors straight, I can summon the courage and manliness to drink a vegetable smoothie and not throw up.

So, I'm asking for some good vegetable smoothie recipes that you've tried or some good blogs/websites for them. Ideally, I'd want recipes where one serving equals the recommended daily dose because it will most likely taste like shit and I don't want to drink a lot of it.

Vegetables taste awesome man, the fuck are you talking about? It all depends on how you cook them.

Try mixing fruits and vegetables together when you make your smoothies/shakes, it'll taste better-- sweeter.
Also, have you tried drinking the v8 drinks they have?

If you grow your own vegetables they taste much, much better. But I realise you are probably not ready to get your fingers green. Also, steaming vegetable helps them keep their flavour. Get a steamer.

Try making some green smoothies. It's when you mix the leafy green vegetables that are the best for you, with fruit. That should help with the taste. For example, you might throw in some fresh spinach and kale with pears and apples.

Anyway, if vegetables taste like shit to you, you're cooking them the wrong way.

A really simple one I make is beetroot, apple and celery.. just stick it all in a juicer and you're good (and regular)

Dont freak out the day after when your numbers 2's are bright red though

Go to tastespotting.com, enter the veggie you want to try in the search, a billion recipes will pop up for that veggie prepared every way you could imagine, find one that looks appetizing and cook. Then you can use herbs and spices that also have health benefits. If not, I'm sure there are recipes for smoothies but you're missing out on real food. That's why you don't like food...you can't cook :p

To be honest, I've only had the v8 fusion drinks with combines fruits & vegetables in the 46oz bottles. And a bottle at Target was roughly 4 dollars.
If you go to their website www.v8juice.com, they have the break downs of what vegetables and fruits are in each drink.

I randomly came across them and they taste pretty awesome. I hate the v8 tomato juice, I think that tastes like shit.

V8s are full of sodium. A lot of sodium. That's one of the few things I keep an eye on in my diet, and it is just killer.

That's why I asked about a juicer some time ago, and VG helped me out. My parents have gone on smoothie diets recently and have cut out soft drinks and even tea. My mom lost 14 pounds in two weeks, she says.

The past few years I realized the benefits of fresh food instead of frozen or the other shit out there with mad preservatives. It's best to just make that shit at home. My parents work together, so it might be different circumstances, but even one of their employees brought a juicer into the kitchen in the office and he makes his own shit during lunch. And then the dietician that works at my dad's place also set the diet out for them.

Wish I was back home. :(

I'm a bigger fan of fruits (no homo). I love my berries and banana with almond milk smoothies.

I miss home even more now.

SOFI, try the BoltHouse products. They have a veggies & fruit smoothie that is OUT of this world. It tastes so good, I recently had it over the past weekend at this place in Boston.

Try the Green Goodness -- it looks disgusting but it tastes amazing.
