imagine that every person consisted of two aspects, the physical and the spiritual if you will. i always figured he meant that if you were confined to only your thoughts, negating the entire physical aspect of yourself, your thoughts would be trapped inside your mind with no vision. but i never really thought about it.
taking a look at it, i'm pretty sure it's relevant to how he's saying he was blind to the facts. i think he's talking about having lived through his life without being able to differentiate good from bad. so he has had to face consequences because of the people he surrounded himself with and the things he allowed himself to do. he doesn't know what's best for himself, he's only surfing the wave, so in that sense he's blind. he has to constantly deal with the consequences i mentioned. it's his curse. that's the time he is doing.
but yeah, that's maybe a little far fetched, i don't know.
