The truth is these rappers don't get that much money from making albums. His biggest selling album when he was alive was All Eyez On Me it went multi platinum and he wasn't here to enjoy most of the royalties but even with a successful album like AEOM there is so much money that you'd have to give away. You are giving a precentage of it to the producers for making beats, he was giving a precentage of it to interscope for distributing it, and he is giving the biggest precentage of it to death row from the promotin DR's had given him and an artist on any label has to payback every single cent the company gave to them not to metion the studio time and the music videos...alot of people don't know that the record company doesn't pay for videos the artist does. It has already been mentioned that he was being sued a lot and if you have seen Tupac Ressurection then you heard him say that he was settleing all the lawsuits because he didn't want to go to court for another 8 months or so. So really an artist gets most of his or her money from doing live shows, guest apperances on t.v....shit like that. Really Tupac didn't make that much money when he was alive he made more after he died. He never got the chance to venture out and start his own business like his own record company his own clothing line shit like that because that is how a lot of these rappers make their money...making albums is sort of just their promotion to get their name out there. When you make an album the only thing you get paid for is what you did own your own such as writing your own lyrics and if you produce your own songs...well then more power to you...you have to own your own shit to make some real change

HOLLA!
:thumb: very true. 50 cent made 50 mill last yr from clothing and shoes and made 8 dollars from GRODT.

Pac owed moned to DR and he had to pay all these law suites and his lawyers. Apart from that Pac spent a lot of his money on the community. The reason we didn't know about his generosity of helping out the community is because he didn't want to make it seem like he was trying to sell more records. A great man indeed.
i never knew that, cheers :)
