Hey, what's up all? I haven't been posting lately and have been just ghosting the boards (reading but not responding to anything) because I'm sick of all the little fucking kids on this board, who will remain nameless...you know who I'm referring to.

Either way, I still plan to stay relatively silent until the age of this board matures a bit, but I figured I'd make an exception to note here that there was a countdown on MTV today of the "Top 10 Best Platinum Selling Rappers".

The top 5 were:
5. Jay Z
4. Snoop Dogg
3. Dr. Dre
2. Eminem

and of course Pac took the number one spot. I just wanted to post this because Pac don't get much love anymore from MTV, so when he does, it's pretty nice.

P.S. BTW, La La said that Pac has old "just over 26.5 million records in the country"...uhh...what happened to just over 36 million?

It's because Biggie isn't as good as those artists, well maybe Jay Z and Snoop, but the others are better than him, in my opinion. And yes it doesn't matter about record sales, but the others are better than him, in my opinion anyway...MY OPINION!!!!

I don't know what kind of adding they did but if Dre is on there then I would expect Biggie to be up there (by counting the albums and not Dre's production on various albums).

It's obvious that Jay-Z and Snoop outsells Biggie since they're still alive! They've released more albums than Biggie.

I think they are refering to the units he's sold when they discard the fact that double albums count has X2, so Greatest hits would be counted as 4.5 as opposed to 9X and same with all eyez on me and all his double albums. So the figure 26.5 may be pretty close to the entire amount of sales when your not counting the double album figures. But 2pac's sales havn't been updated in a WHILEEE, like better dayz has sold over 1.7 million copies and is still referred to as double Plat but its a double CD so that easily makes it 3 X plat. All of hiss Cd sales have not been updated in a whilee and I'm sure Greatest hits and all eyez on me are well beyond Diamond ranking by now, seeing as most retailer's still stock up on those cd's regularly. So Till the updated figures come in and double album sales are counted, we won't know his real numbers but in my oppion it easily topples 40 mil.

Your right on some shit, but I wasn't much of a Biggie fan. I think Dre was good back in the day. He's had loads of albums, and deserves to be up in the top 5.

It was all about the Top 10 Best Platinum Rappers though. How many times did Biggie go platinum? Twice werent it? That program werent about BEST rappers, it was about how many times that rapper went platinum, if i'm wrong. I stand corrected.

Nah lol, I was just seeing how people would react to it, thats why I put the little wink face

But I don't rate Snoop and Jay-Z as good artists, but like i've said, Biggie wasn't my favourite artist, as a matter of fact, I didn't really like his music. But there are alot of artists better than Snoop etc etc, in my opinion. The ones that are less famous are better than the ones who are making all this money, we all know that, like you have said, and it is a shame, but you know, shit happens man! Maybe, one day, shit will change, and the ones who deserve the success, will make it, but you know, it's looking very unlikely, but in the music buisness, shit can change soooooo quick!

hasn't dre only done 3 albums .

but anyway, he is a huge part in the rap scene and he will be remembered as a great producer and a good rapper.
